Belgian pilots for Norwegian 787

Hi guys,

Any Belgian 787 pilots here that would send me their PM? I would like to have a chat before applying at Rishworth. My e-mail: [email protected].

Thanks a lot, this would help me greatly in the decision making!

Hi friends,
I need some Infos about tax in uk. rishworth gave some figures for FO which are:
Gross pay £4150
Per diem: £830

Considering to come back from Asia and having a wife with no job, how much will be the net figures? Anyone in my same situation?
I don't have any clue about where to move my residency if is better to register my family in uk or Italy.
Please do not blame my choice I have to come back, my parents are getting old and one is sick, my wife wants to come back in Europe.

Thank you so much for who will help me to figure out how it will be.

I have heard that more than 30 pilots resigned and almost 40 reaching the end of their contracts in one month. No reasonable renewal contract have been offered but even worse T&C. I am going to attend a roadshow in April and wondering why so many are leaving.
The end of contract is going down like this: Kjos' henchman, that runs this LH sharade holds a gun to their heads and telling them "accept degraded T&C or I will fire you and make up the slack with wetlease"

Don't we all dream of working for "people" like this?

Seems the "DreamLiner" is regressing to its former troublesome past

And yes, "The Norwegian Way" is perhaps not as you may be expecting it, if you had watched the cheesy recruitment/staff motivation videos so beloved of management with no intention of honouring the principles championed in them.

The €40000 is too much for an old dog line moi to shell out . As much as id like to fly the 787 , it still any other widebody twin. I cant leave my current repetitive but secure position for the unknown.
I'm sure its ok as long as it lasts ( 3 years) but too stressful if it goes south.
It seemed like the perfect job but all things considered, i wont be signing this contract .

Perfect Job except for the short contract, insecure employment, ever changing conditions, very very low pay, high taxes.......

Would a current Line Captain be kind enough to share a typical roster month?

Thanks

uchy, 5 Jan:
“someone can kindly show us an example of a typical monthly roster”

Mach 81, 6 Jan:
“Still looking for an example of a roster…”

Catacroker, 26 Jan:
“Does anyone have a roster?”

pinasse 33, 19 February:
“Anybody can send me his roster of LGW capt based”

Winston, 7 March:
“Would a current Line Captain be kind enough to share a typical roster month?”

There are no public responses to the above. Is it possible the smiling rock-ape has misled pilots regarding their Dreamliner, bonded lifestyle?

The above figures are correct. Dont forget the allowances are upto £830 and must be claimed for duty time Ex UK ie layovers, on a daily basis.

It will be interesting to see what effect the US state Department travel warning has on the trans Atlantic travel market , the meat of NLH ( and BAs) profits.
" The State Department alertsU.S. citizens to potential risks of travel to and throughout Europe following several terrorist attacks, including the March 22 attacks in Brussels claimed by ISIL. "

Despite a purported system-wide Master Seniority List, upgrades on all fleets is entirely at the whim of Norwegian’s questionable management. Third-party, agency employed pilots, either individually or collectively, have neither an employment relationship nor recourse directly with Norwegian, whatsoever. Read the contract.

‘Morality’ and ‘correctness’ are not words I would associate with Norwegian’s labor model, nor, I imagine, would those staff on the receiving end of Norwegian’s oppressive style, regularly making headlines in the Scandinavian media:-

http://www.pprune.org/terms-endearme...ml#post9326078

Kjos talks a good talk on how he values his staff at 2.00 minutes in the video below:-

“The number one criteria for success is all the fantastic people we have up in the air, in the offices, on the ground”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzAS...&nohtml5=False

If staff are indeed the number one asset, it follows, those same staff have a commodity with which they can decisively negotiate a positive change in their working terms and conditions. The Norwegian Pilot Group declares its goal to members:-

“To facilitate the effective collective representation for ALL Norwegian pilots regardless of country or base”

Rather than idly boast, system-wide collective representation, why not actually do something(?) - NPG: Norwegian’s Pitiful Group.

Apparently, Norwegian’s 787 pilots want to go their own way and have formed the Norwegian Long Haul Pilots Association, NLHPA. Their website states;

“NLHPA will seek its goals by establishing a constructive relationship with the employer”

Their “employer” is the third-party agency that rents them to Norwegian. Any “goals” sought directly with Norwegian require different methods. Let’s hope they can meet the challenge. If not, it is in danger of becoming the NLHPA - Norwegian’s Long Haul Pilot Apathy.

A group of sheep will soon have masters of wolves….....or one smiling rock-ape!

Maybe he did, but unfortunately he is always pretty much on the money with NAS/NAN/NAI/NUK or whatever flavour they are this month.

US airlines Norwegian Air International - Tech Insider

Well, finally they got the tentative approval.... at least some glimmer of hope for the 787 crews and with Ryanair feeding PAX to them they may do well after all..

Ryanair in talks to feed passengers to Norwegian carrier - Independent.ie

Nothing to do with Obama's visit to UK then!

Gents, there is not much about NLH on this forum because honestly, any info with at least a touch of validity is a scarce commodity

What s the use for instance of publishing the rosters if they constantly change? Be ready for just about anything, sometimes you ll have five days off in a row, but then 20 days away as well. You ll be commuting between bases, never knowing for sure your next day or week. Of course a positive change is "just around the corner", its only hard to say which one. If you think about it realistically, the plan is to open destinations on all five continents, which means with the low budget mentality, the chaos is to be expected for years to come.

As far as the recruitment process goes, streight foward, after prior online psycho tests a small presentation with little info (or enthusiasm) provided, an interview with who you are, what do you expect, with one or two general tech questions and the sim.

The sim is on a 737 and you are basically expected to go through a rushed 45 minutes OPC, including an engine out at vr and single engine np approach with all of the relevant checklists. And that with no prior explanations nor help. Needles to say, if you re 737 type rated, its an easy task, otherwise you may feel like an idiot in a plane you have never touched before.

Adding this to the fact that the company does not even deem it necessary as a gesture of respect to pay even for a single night of hotel accomodation for you in Oslo, you will leave with the feeling of knowing fairly well of what you are getting into. A low budget airline with a very blurred future and questionable employee treatment, but, if thats your ultimate goal, you can fly a dreamliner.
