easyJet UK based pilots are dealing with a 'prisoner dilemma':

Both of you need to say 'no more'.

Ezy and ROBMEDIUM

The company will employ people in the cheapest manner possible. They will also be oversubscribed as there are many people out there who will want the job.

As for those of us on better older contracts, well, fairness has nothing to do with it.

Tough titty.

I have stated openly that I do not believe the salary levels on offer at Madrid were supportable in a low-cost operation - I stand by that view.
Yes ADM, you have stated this openly... and we all know that you find it unpalatable to make less money, being a training captain, than a normal line captain in Madrid or France...

Simple fact is that the contracts offered in Spain at the time they were created were of LESS value than the UK contracts. In terms of gross pay at the exchange rate in 2006/2007 when the contracts were created is pretty much equal. And maybe I should also remind you that the spanish contracts offer ZERO company pension. In other words you are expected to cater for this yourself!

You my friend are the lowest of the low!

As long as you keep spitting on your colleagues in Europe (Italy, France, Spain and Germany) complaining about their so-called overgenerous salaries (which is simply explained through the euro/pound exchange rate variation) how do you ever expect to unite and fight the flexicrew issue. You are leading the race to the bottom!

Zoso

Dear Boy I am very happy with my lot. Base of choice. Roster stability. Good renunciation. " Snug as a bug in a rug "

With regard to France.

It is hard to see how France can quickly extricate itself from its economic morass. It is Europe’s most centralized, state-dominated economy, and it is deeply invested in its opposition to what the French call the Anglo-Saxon economies of Britain and the United States, whose laissez-faire approach they blame for the 2008 financial crisis.

Yet, like Europe’s lagging Mediterranean countries, though to a lesser extent, France is having trouble competing with the larger German economy, which is more flexible, less confrontational in its relations with employees and more solidly built on industry and exports.

While Mr. Sarkozy blames the 2008 global financial shock for France’s woes, the real problem, “is the unsustainable economic and social model of the last three decades.” France, like other European countries, benefited from cheap credit, leading to a society in which nearly two-thirds of the economic growth depended on consumption, partly financed by social transfers. Those, in turn, were financed by public debt that has ballooned to 86 percent of the gross domestic product in 2011 from 20 percent in 1980.

737Jock

Your message has always been one of " Rise up comrade throw off the yoke of the oppressor " Unite and fight. Right......... Like that will happen in the real world.

Mr Mugabe sir, do you have a plan of action for when WB decides to come along and attack your own terms and conditions? Its not if it will happen, its when.

Yep I'm a communist...

In every post you (RGM) and ADM write you can see the ignorant, short-sighted I'm all right Jack attitude.

You have no idea what ****-storm is going to hit the UK and US...

What type of opiates are you on 737Jock? I would suggest the reality is what ADM and myself have been trying to put across.

As long as you keep spitting on your colleagues in Europe (Italy, France, Spain and Germany) complaining about their so-called overgenerous salaries (which is simply explained through the euro/pound exchange rate variation) how do you ever expect to unite and fight the flexicrew issue. 1. We have already hit rock bottom in the UK . Flexicrew is here to stay.

In every post you (RGM) and ADM write you can see the ignorant, short-sighted I'm all right Jack attitude. You have no idea what ****-storm is going to hit the UK and US...
Yes a debt storm. Due to being risk adverse I have no debt. I have savings. I have seen this coming for years and can afford to exist on savings if I have no incomings. So yes I am alright Jack.

Already hit rock bottem? You must be seriously delusional if you think this is rock bottem. There is a huge drill waiting to dig a hole in that rock, which is your T&C's.
Coincidentally in France the union just stopped all this, by a single days strike that did get loads of media attention regarding a certain company not playing the rules of the game as set out by the nations regulations. A strike that did not cause any cancellations but still led to the company retreating and giving in to very reasonable demands (inflation pay rise)!

Nothing can be done my ****! You just don't want to do anything cause you are afraid, hiding behind your "safe" savings and "old" contract. In a way you are acting exactly as all those youngsters who pay 100k+ for their licenses in the belief that all the bad stuff happens to other people!

What do you think the banks do with your savings??? How do they pay the interest on your savings? Money doesn't replicate itself...

So they take your money and loan it out to other people, who pay interest on that money. The bank them takes a cut of that money and deposits the remaining interest in your account and loan that money out again to other people.
Worst thing they didn't loan your money out once, no they do it multiple times, cause what is the risk that 1 person defaults on their loan.
The bank only needs to pay interest on your money once, but they receive interest on it multiple times. That is their profit...

But what happens if people can't pay their interest or debt anymore? A bankrun? The bank hasn't got enough cash to cover all the savings in the bank, so they default. And the government has to bail out the bank... But with what money???

Ah the bank of England will print some, but that causes inflation. So your money is either gone or becomes of less value. Interest is gone. The UK's debt became larger which will eventually increase your taxes or lead to the UK defaulting on their loans.

Your savings won't save you unless EVERYBODY including governments start living to their means and pay of their debt.

Calm down Dears Calm down.

Would not want a Euro contract at all. How long will the Euro last. Then wait and see what local contracts you get.

Nothing to be done about UK and flexicrew , as said before different country different union rules.

You are NOT alright Jack... You are just scared! Scared to loose your current life. But failing to see that your inaction is the cause.

No. Bad stuff generally happens to nice people. I am not a nice person because I look after myself and my family and have no loyalty to the company or the people I work with.

Why? I work to live and not live to work. I do not socialise with anyone at work because I made a conscious decision on joining not to do so. Works for me. As soon as the pros of staying with easyjet do not outweigh the cons bye bye.

You two (737Jock and Zoso) seem a little too emotive about the company you work for. Happy in your lives?

Ah but where will you go? To all those other companies, begging for you to join them as you are such an excellent loyal employee? Those companies which are running after easyjet and ryanair in the race to the bottom? What else can they do, these companies are taking their market share.

You are seriously short-sighted... Apart from a sudden pilot shortage your current T&C's might be the best you will ever be presented with!!!

Bad stuff happens to nice people? thats your reasoning?

It is quite funny really!

Please don't move on to the Easy Forum. I'm finding this quite amusing and to be honest it's taken all the heat from the 'monarch anyone' thread.

Surely we can convince Blackandbrown to make an inflamitory post just to spice things up a bit more?

Mugabe your base ain't the safest is it? Never heard of hubris and nemesis? We will see who works to live if you're 'exiled' too.

As for you spottemm, everything that needs to be said about your company has been said, time will tell. I realise the truth hurts, it hurts me every day too. If you think Monarch are being sensible then it's just as well that you're gambling your career on them.

Which Base are you talking about?

Never heard of hubris and nemesis?
I dont think I have lost contact with reality, I certainly don't overestimate my competence and I am not in a position of power. I havent shamed and humiliated the victims ( 737Jock and Zoso) for pleasure or gratification.

That said I am sure I will receive what is due. Be that good or bad.

Which interpretation are you referring to? I am certainly not envious or jealous. It's all Greek to me.

Then wait and see what local contracts you get.
Page 29 of the Roland Berger Report states that local contracts will increase Ezy crew employment costs by c.10% p.a. by 2017 over the satus quo........
