...but actually, while I'm on the subject. Do you know how much of the working UK population earnes £50,000 pa and over? 3%, that's all. and only 1% of the working population earns £100 plus.

The actual median salary (ie the most common
salary in the UK) is actually around £12,500 per annum. Makes you think, doesn't it.

Could somebody explain the point of this thread and tell me if it enhances our image as a mature and responsible group of professionals?

Pete Otube!!! the main point is not to screw anybody down! We didn't ask about Management beancounter to begin with...and your attitude....
I don't know if you had slighty noticed that we (people in aviation) have something in common...a great sense of humor
No one of us is really complaining...or putting anybody else down!!! we all love our jobs (don't we?) and we're just having a friendly post in here...without snobbing...
We all have good standards of live...and we all are a happy bunch!
For you...straight to the naughty corner...with no inflight entretainment and no cup of tea!!!
Sorry captain Xenia's speaking...would you mind switching the pressurization system off in the naughty corner??

The point of this thread is is quite obvious; to compare pilots takehome pay. I've found it interesting and useful. As to whether it enhances our image, I don't know and I don't care! This is after all a pilots' forum and exactly the right place to discuss this topic.

I'm a CX wannabe, it seems that the pay with them is quite a bit higher than most posted so far, is that correct or am I missing something here?

LX 2nd year RHS RJ85/RJ1H, SFR 4400 (UKL 1680), including about SFR 300 (UKL 120) expenses.

All this before tax (about 20%) in a very expensive country

On the bright side, I love the job and spend all my remaining SFR on flying the light VFR rubber driven stuff during my days off
Been flying for more than 20 years now, I must be mad, but sure don't need help, thanks

This really hurts!! I'm an Aircraft Maint Engineer (AME) in Canada. I work for The regional carrier for AC ( the guys with the maple leaf on their tail).

Last months took home $2400 Cdn, which , as of the close of business on Fri Nov 3, is 1057 pounds. I have been in this job for 13 years. I must be doing this out of love, 'cause the money ain't making me rich!!

£1150/month take home includes FDP. F/O archaic (but fun) turboprop based at a poor excuse for a London airport (Hint:it's got a big car factory at the end of the runway).

PS Can some of you Easy boys throw some of your wads of cash at us as you taxi past please. We'll be holding at D1,

Ta

BA 744 F/O 2+ years (14 years in the industry): £3700- (incl. some draft). Normally, £2900 ish.

Other half, BA hostie (new contract) £1700.

I'd still like to be paid the same as our cousins at the US majors.

"Show me the money!"

What the heck - the sunshine is free & it's the best fun you can have outside a cockpit!
