Thanks Boeing, you are right,........ thanks to the easy crews for such a welcome,...... no hard feelings, sniping or "told you so's", simply open arms,.... i am sure this reflects the work forces attitude......... thanks for being so open,.....

Personally I have mixed feelings. Nothing to do with who has bought us (I feel they are a secure, solid outfit). More to do with disappointment at being sold out to the competition, almost as if we have failed in our attempts. I guess this feeling will wear off once the details emerge. I have taken great pride in working for GB, and I hope I can trasnfer that to easy in time.

I am also disappointed that I could have gone to easy a month ago, with a golden handshake of £15k, and I thought I would remain at GB as they had been nice to me!! Ironically, now I find myself out of pocket! I guess you win some, you lose some!!

Can anyone confirm whether the GO boys and gals got a years salary as previously stated?!

Now I know most of you in rumours are flight deck and have possibly more concerns than us cabin crew.
But seriously I hope GB cabin crew will be more positive about this than some of the childish comments made here in rumours.

Im not having a go, but just saying maybe we all should be more positive about the whole thing. No one exactly yet knows the final deal and what it holds for the GB guys and us EZY lot.

I'm not going to sit here and go off on one about how good easy is because of this that and the other because there has already been plenty of that already said.

At the end of the day (Or March 29th) we are going to be working together. So lets all be adults and lets make a good positive start now.

if easyjet could operate out of manchester, the liverpool operation would collapse,as most of the passengers travel long distance to fly from liverpool.there are a finite number of passengers,2 airports in close proximity would result in half full flights !the sale of GB just confirms the consolidation in the UK locost airline operation.too many airlines competing for too few passengers.this will not be the last merger or failure for that matter.

Have to gree with SEAT1APLEASE, always chose BA to the canaries. Had a wonderful flight back from GC a few months ago. Certainly won't go EZY.
I actually dislike their attitude to pax, lack of club, lack of food...I could go on. Who'd have thought the CEO of BA could dismantle his own airline with such ease.

Not everybody thinks Easyjet are wonderful.

On another point, the canaries tourism board are trying to encourage more 'high quality' tourists to their islands, so I'm pretty sure they won't be pleased. Five hours on an easyjet cramped flight? No thanks.
What a comment. Take the british off the Canarias and there will mostly be quality people left, but that has nothing to do with who is flying them to or from their destinations. If you don't like to fly with "the people" then go with someone else, and regarding our staff then you sound like you have never flown with us. Majority of all crews here are excellent

I have been with several other companies before I joined EZY, and this is by far the most pleasant and enjoyable company so far. It might not suit everybody and that is fine, but if you don't like it then just close the door and go,- noone will blame you.

For those who decide to join us at EZY, then a very warm welcome to you all. I am sure you will be met with smiles and positive attitudes regardless of where you will end up being based, and I will be suprised if you will be dissapointed about the daily life in EZY. It is a very warm and friendly outfit with good standards all over. And if you can, then please bring over some better pensions and crew meals (though that should be solved as we write, with change to gate gourmet). Nothing is perfect, but that is just the shear facts of life

Upon joining GO Fly all employees received a certificate of share options on shares that didn't then exist. They were theoretical share options based on the the business floating on the stock exchange as per the business plan in years to come. People were issued enough shares to be roughly equivalent to their first years basic salary.

The company never got as far as flotation before easyJet bought it. As part of the deal they honoured the pseudo share options. Therefore everyone got a cheque after the takeover for roughly their basic joining salary. For me it was £27k.

Obviously none of this applies in the case of GB.

Being deeply attached to GO I found it hard to let go and have the Orange chip inserted. However, there is a warm and fuzzy feeling working for a large profitable airline with a decent business plan and high operational standards. So I'm over it now - as is everyone else.

I'm sure that everyone will extend the warmest of welcomes to all at GB. I certainly do. Its all come full circle in a way.

As an ex go employee and a current easy boy i would like to welcome all from GB and the girls and boys down the back are no longer too orange.
To wish all the best to those who don't come accross. Shame you might enjoy it!
those who complain about not getting club class to AGP, well go waste ya money with BA, we don't need it. even before the purchase of GB, we stil carry more pax including business people on short haul flights than BA!!
Plus out of GLA we work maybe 550hrs a year, very stable roster and the six sectors are alot more fun than tredging it down to sharm in the middle of the night.
All the Best.

As a EZY crew member I would very much like to know what evidence you have regarding our 'attitude to pax'. If it is from experience then i am sorry for that, and would say it would be a isolated incident as I know easyjet strive and work very hard to provide high standards in customer service.

If it is not from experiance or no evidence then i can not see why you have any right to have a go us at ezy.

And from another one of your comments
On another point, the canaries tourism board are trying to encourage more 'high quality' tourists to their islands, so I'm pretty sure they won't be pleased. Five hours on an easyjet cramped flight? No thanks.
Are you saying you are of the 'high quality tourist' and that people who work for a low cost brand and those that fly a low cost brand are below you and not good enough?

Ok we might not have business class but i promise you one thing

If you come on one of my flights or my colleges flights you will get off with a smile on your face because we want to give our passengers the best service possible and we take PRIDE in working for easyjet.

To all my friends at GB, good luck! It could have been worse, you could have been bought by another, similar sized locost outfit, and then you would really discover the feeling of being shafted......

So......... again.......... proof positive, if any more was needed, that BA have neither the will nor the ability to run anything other than fortress Heathrow. (I wonder how long before it dawns that actualy BA are a dinosaur who will not exist in less than five years)
Speaking as someone who was sold by BA to the nasty little operator FLYBE and quickly bailed out (along with 70% of other BA Connect flight deck) I would say that the GB boys and gals should have nothing to fear. Easy may have strange ways of doing things but they are a decent company who value the individual. One thing is for certain .........they sure know how to deal with a merger/ takeover. The GO deal was a masterclass in forward planning with very little fallout.
Good luck to all concerned!
PS I hope you at GB enjoy better luck than we did over staff travel. Willie stuck the knife in and twisted it good and proper........particularly into those of us who thought we had accrued concessions in retirement as a result of long service. Balpa were as usual beyond useless

GB staff...not crew

It seems to be very clear to everybody that flight crews and cabin crews will be given the opportunity to join the orange fleet if they wish to do so...but does any one have an idea about wath“s going to happen to the rest of the non flying staff?
Don“t forget there are hundreds, including operations, engineers, etc. but not only in the UK, also in several outstations like GIB, AGP, RAK, etc.

From what I've read, Gb appears a generous airline to it's staff.
No wonder it took 9 months sell.
Even if it was for the give away price of 3 new A319's, I suspect it was the only offer.
You're really lucky you found a buyer.
You're an expensive bunch to keep.
BUT, 15 good aircraft, staff, 50 plus years of goodwill all for £100m, did someone whisper bargain...
Why no management buyout?
What do the Blands have to say?
Why didn't Nigel want you.
An complete airline for half the cost B787?
Where's best friend Willie when you need him,?
Proves he completely wants out of LGW.
What does that make his 737 fleet worth?
Your family business have an awful lot of questions to answer.
No wonder their so quiet.....

I'd like to thank the ezy guys for being so positive to us cc at GB.
I personally am a little excited (as well as anxious, but who isn't!?)
We're not all orange-hating snobs!!!!!!!!!

Its unfortunate that Gb haven't really given us any information yet which would explain the negative feelings. This is a complete shock!!!

I feel a lil' gutted that willie walsh was so mean about our rejection but Gb has been drifting away from the Ba model for a while so it really isnt a surprise!

Thing is stormin' Norm' I doubt it! No snobbery, whining or moaning about the colour of a uniform, and the guys and gals at EZY it seems are top level folk, arms wide open to welcome in a load of new comers.

Thats great, but until I get any more info from the company I see it as,

Reduced company pension contributions,

More flying hours (yeah I know they all say they don't but we're contracted to 775)

Reduced staff travel concessions (gb get concessions on the whole one world alliance)

Less time off!! Yes really, with our longer 2 sector days you end up working less days per month than 5/3 5/4 and still doing 775, and call me a lazy sod if you please but I for one would rather do a TFS or PFO or SSH and sit up there like a lemon chatting up the girls, drinking tea, talking crap, munching on club food and looking out the window than going up and down like a yo-yo into really busy airspace.

I'm not moaning (really I'm not just telling it like it is on the GB side of the fence) and maybe I'll be convinced when I've heard all that is to be said, but for the mean time I've always chosen to stay at Gb beacause I like it there!!

Did you not realise Flygib went down the pan 3 months ago
also easy say they will fly to Gib
Also Gib 1 hour from AGP when not high season due to traffic on motorway, in summer add 30 mins
Gib ideal to serve Marbella and Cadiz if the Gib Govmt drop Landing charges, which is larger catchment area than people realise.
Easy will make a fortune if they get good deal with Gib Gvnmt and fly from regional destinations
