May I remind the readership of the caveat that appears at the bottom of these pages:

As these are anonymous forums the origins of the contributions may be opposite to what may be apparent. In fact the press may use it, or the unscrupulous, to elicit certain reactions.

I agree with all the latest posts - best the letter is deleted.. As someone who has previously had posts removed by the moderator for mentioning names, I'm suprised a moderator hasn't had the good sense to take it off too - sorry Mon757chick...

I believe the letter should be deleted also. I wonder who posted it, management maybe?

Big mistake posting that. This is a very private battle at the moment and should be kept that way. The CC and BALPA have worked extremely hard, so let's not spoil it please.

its gone a bit quiet on this forum is that because people have just stop caring and given up all hope of getting a good pay offer or is it because the majority have decided to accept TJ's offer,, so, whats the verdict?

Have a look on the BalpaCC site HOT....!!! Let's be fair about it ALL Monarch CC Balpa/pilot issues should be there NOT on here! When a vote has been carried out and the results issued, I am sure word will get around! 360 you a member of union at Monarch?

Not given up hope, and TJ can "get bent" as Bart Simpson would say.
It is quiet on here 'cos everyone is busy writing CVs!

I'm sure by now that the various management types floating around the various crew rooms today are starting to get the message.
The implied threats, and blank refusal to accept the other side of the argument does TJ no credit what so ever. He should've stayed at Ryanair

We all know most of the current problems can be attributed to RS. Few trust or respect him and the sooner the rest of the top floor realise this the better. The pilot management is littered with far more capable candidates who would never have caused such ill feeling amongst the pilot workforce. Its time for a change.

I have an interview with Monarch in July. At the moment I work for a good loco (no prizes for guessing who), and I would consider Monarch as a good career move.

I am shocked however to see pilots are unhappy at Monarch and the old saying "no one seems to leave monarch....", doesn't seem to hold water anymore from what I'm seeing on pprune.

Are things that bad, and what are the Terms and conditions that you guys seem so unhappy with? Is it mainly rostering, rest time and routes?

Does anyone know what fleet and bases Monarch are recruiting for?

Thanks

BM

Fool's Ode

My name is Tricky Dicky,
I was the Ops director
I really should have listened,
But instead I gave a lecture.

I made comments of my trainers,
now they've told me not to meddle
So I've written them a letter,
In order to back peddle.

I never said a thing you guys,
It really is absurd
It's just those BALPA militants,
They're are stiring up the turd.

My boss is Tim O'Leary,
who claimed to know the feeling
but one visit to the crew room,
has left the bugger reeling.

So he's written to the pilots,
this time without the threats
Will he stop them striking,
I'll not be taking bets.

"It's been a big mistake chaps,
I never knew at all
Richard didn't tell me,
Coz he hasn't got the balls".

"Please think about my bonus,
whilst you watch the airline grow
you fund it with your wages,
as if you didn't know".

"I know I could stop the ballot,
By increasing the pay offers
But by making hollow promises,
It doesn’t hit the coffers".

What will happen now Tim?,
we'll give you just one guess
Your bonus is in danger
Coz we'll all be ticking YES!

Dear BM737
I refer you to the answer I gave brian_potter on page 18....
"The reason they are advertising for F/O's is because a lot are leaving for Easy, BA, Virgin and Aer Lingus amongst others. The reasons they are leaving are mainly pay, pension, lifestyle issues and roster disruption.
If you work for Easy you would most likely take a significant pay cut by moving to Monarch and your pension won't improve. If you do work for Easy I'll swap you jobs!"
Think very BLOODY carefully before considering swapping Easy for Monarch. We've had people come to us from Easy and then go back to Easy because it is not a move up the ladder in any way shape or form! It is a less well paid, less secure, more disruptive life at Monarch.

And the man at the top spins all words

here's a previous TJ devious shot

http://www.rte.ie/news/2002/0228/ryanair.html

Then he was the "My Travel Lite", where are they now? (and all we seem to be doing is more of the same out of BHX ) Monarch's core money making charter and long haul is suffering whilst we mess around with the lo cost model with a hotch potch fleet of ageing aircraft and TJ says yields are down we can not afford to improve company infrastructure and staff members pay and life style. We have to employ low cost staff to be able to compete with the higher cost employes that other competitiors have !

BM737,

Sphinx is right, If your at EZ your mad to leave. My mates in easy are taking home around £700 more than i am per month!!!!

Roster instability is prevalent, its not worth the paper its written on.

Routes on the Minibus fleet is Spain. 75/76/330 see a little bit more of the world.

If out T&Cs improve Monarch might becom a place to move to, however with the current conditions and the new proposal from management, it is DEFINITELY NOT a place to come.

I feel sorry for all the newbies...... joining a company thats on the verge of a strike. Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place.....

Bright Eyes, I've printed that off and I read it about once an hour. I'll keep reading it as long as it makes me laugh.

You'll Work 'Till 64

ZeBedie you really shouldn’t have encouraged me! please singing along with the following, to the tune of The Beatles “When I’m 64”.

When I get hold of the ballot result, in just two weeks from now
Will you still by flying my big shiny jets?
Reporting early?
Carrying defects?

When I get home at quarter to three, Friday afternoon
Will you be reporting for the Dalaman?
You’ve not seen your family?
I don’t give a damn!

Chorus:
The shareholders need me
Because I’m so greedy
I just keep wanting more!

Send me an email, Drop me a line, Anything will do.
But if you tick yes on your paper,
I'll make a tough call
They’ll be no 78’s then,
I’ll take in my ball.

Chorus:
I don't want to sound needy
But please believe me
I just can't give you more!

With apologies to Ringo, Paul, John and George.

The relative value of Pilots, Cabin Crew & Engineers?

After many lengthy meetings with BALPA, the pilots union, Monarch has offered its pilots RPI of 4.6% on the condition that they accepted detrimental changes to their contracts. These included a reduction in the length of a day off and the ability to roster more consecutive night flights. This despite overwhelming evidence of Monarch’s poor pilot T’s and C’s within the industry, in part due to 5 years of below industry standard salary increases and a complete disregard to quality of life issues.

However, without any representative meetings, the rest of the Monarch workforce has been offered an unconditional 4.6%.

This is on top of the derisory offer to the engineers and the very poor deal accepted by the cabin crew.

The clear message -

Monarch Airlines does not value its front line staff. Monarch pilots, cabin crew and engineers are obviously held in less regard by TJ than the rest of his staff. This on top of the recent insults by management concerning it pilot trainers!

Is this deliberate divide and rule or just another **** up by a senior management team seemingly unable to manage?
