Monarch pilots, cabin crew and engineers are obviously held in less regard by TJ than the rest of his staff.
Is this a surprise? Look at the office staff rest area set up in Luton HQ with flat screen TV, free internet connection, sofas, tables and decent vending machines.

Compare and contrast with zero facilities provided for the cabin crew checking in at 0400 for 5 or so hours of airport standby.

I'm not begrudging the office staff their facility - good luck to you all - but the contrast makes the point, especially when compared with what other airlines provide for their aircrew who do airport standbys.

Oh yes he has!
The only reason pilots aren't doing them is because the pilots' CC said no to them. They did in fact appear on a pilot's roster in early May which you should know if you are a BALPA member as it was covered in the other place at the time.
Pity the cabin crew union didn't say the same when they were introduced on their rosters.

Flapoperator, any initial roster in monarch bares little or no resemblance with what you end up doing, as has been said before on here you can be rostered for an early pmi and end up doing a night rhodes, that night, pi**ing the wife off when she has arranged a barbie, happens more often than not, or you get off a lunch time faro and on landing you find out that you have to take the a/c to the other side of the country and taxi back arriving back at 5am ish , company dosnt care how long your duty extends after the flying bit.

anotherflapoperator .... the reason you have been offered a job is because they are trying to plug the gaps from the guys leaving .. its not as if the A300 is an expanding fleet ! i know of 2 guys on that fleet who are leaving, both for lifestyle reasons do yourself a favour and make sure you read all the posts on this thread - most of them are from line pilots who have good reason to complain.

The offer was WELL below expectations to say the least!!!!!!! Only RPI with a slight tweak to the first couple of F/O scales. Oh yes, we will also get approx 80 pence per flying (not duty) hour. I still think that bit is a joke, it must be, surely it must!!
On the BALPA site there is disbelief.
Either the CC have a master plan or they have come way short of expectations. There will be plenty of jobs going cuz the youngsters will not be staying.
I feel a few more very cheesed of postings will follow.

Cheesed off posting coming right up!!

So the CC have put the offer on the website - and the result?? UPROAR! Are you reading this management?? That's right, complete 100% NO from everyone posting..disbelief and a hardening of resolve. So much for our management "listening and understanding" -

It's clear that despite the CC's best endeavours, management have not moved an inch and the Council have had to put this derisory insult to us as nothing else was forthcoming. The CC are under no illusion as to how the membership feel - shame mangement are not... Looks like an intersting summer ahead... I don't think the Fo's should be dusting down their CV's, rather the monkey grinder and the ware rabbit..

Had a sneaky peak on the CC website this morning (very nice WiFi) here, and it would appear the CC are quite happy to put this to members purely on the basis that they will reject it.
If the IA ballot comes back with an overwhelming YES vote, then the CC are in a far stronger position to negotiate.
My spies tell me that TJ and his cronies have already conceded that the vote will be a resounding YES, so again it would appear that they have tried to head off the action with an offer that they thought they could get away with, or that PB see's as all he is prepared to offer.
Make no mistake though, PB is the real puppet master, and he learn't his negotiation skills off the fellow who did over the First Choice pilots a while ago. PB is a bully and needs someone too sit him on his lardy arse.

And of course, the CC negotiators are really going to be helped by someone (supposedly) looking at their website and broadcasting their alleged tactics to all and sundry via Pprune.

A300 & B757 aircraft are predominantly LGW & MAN based.
1 x B757 at EDI for Summer and 1 x A300 in DUB, but crews are not based at EDI or DUB....at least not at the moment

You get shunted to EDI or DUB normally for 3-4 days at a time and normally as a plot change ! If you want an easier life then the 300 is the one, flying considerably less hrs year on year than 757 drivers. The down side to the 300 is that you become very familiar with the QRH, especially the hydraulics section. LGW main base for both of those fleets. Both fleets should be dying out, but company are hanging on to the machines as long as possible.

Thanks.

I have an interview with Monarch soon, and I am sorry that things appear so bad. However I still plan to attend the interview, and if offered a job I will consider very carefully, but would be very tempted to accept.

Do you know what aircraft type they are recruiting for? It was mentioned that the 75's and 300's are being phased out so I can't imagine much recruitment on these types.

Once again thanks for your replies.

This company is one of the best airlines to work for because of its great pilots.

The mgmt are on the run and things will soon be much better.

A320/1 is the type most recruited for at present. Your interview will consist of one thing - them establishing that you are not a tw@t. Convince them of this and you are in.

Good luck.

Babymike737 - I would imagine there will be recruitment on all aircraft types due to people leaving, especially if the T&C's dont get sorted out !!
Dont come blinkered with thoughts of - Monarch has a good reputation, you dont hear much about Monarch, Monarch have been around for years they must know what they are doing.
If you come with such thoughts you will be sadly disappointed, there are 2 Monarchs the good old days and present day.
Do as nilcostoptionmyass says - many are.

Just my two cents worth FC.

Ps - I also agree with Rushed approaches 1st sentence above. There are some great guys and girls here.
