The Fly be FOD and a Newly appointed Senior Training Captain are both Ex BA and Connect respectively.

Connect Pilots may well be a lot better off than they think.

Danger Borat The Pilot

We cant be having rational reasoned posts like JA`s in this thread. This is the place for bigotted self righteous ranting, otherwise it will be too boring here and everyone will bogg off and join some well balanced organisation like the BNP.
Most off us in CON have been well shafted by our management over the years, after 20years in the group I end up with a pension of about £8500whilst our erstwhile Fhurers parachute into BA Mainline ,so what you have here is groups of people manouvering to achieve the best possible result for themselves, whilst the situation remains fluid.
When the deal has solidified we will all have to get on with eachother
( No one can get on with me, most people can`t cope with two sectors in the same metal box, nevermind 6 )and I expect that we will.
So why don`t we stop slagging each other off and wait until we have some facts.
(Factz are in short supply here)

Agent Oringe,

I think you probably mean the Director, Flight Operations, the General Manager (Training) - not a Training Captain per se, and the General Manager (Turbo-props).

I'm also almost certain, that their payslips this month would have said 'Flybe' on them. (Their new, multicoloured, three-part payslips, indeed). What are you implying?

One thing, tho', J A, there will be many issues but salaries won't be one. Assuming the pay ballot gets a 'yes' tomorrow, that's what EVERYONE will be paid. Jim French has made it utterly clear that he will not tolerate pilots in the new Flybe being on different t's and c's or salary scales. AT all. Ever.

As for the seniority list.............................................oh, fcuk!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So will he tolerate them being in a different pension scheme? A number of BA connect staff are in a DB scheme and I assume that they will remain in it on handover. After all, their BA managers have just agreed a deal to sort out the deficit and from the Q&A's it would apear that BA have chucked in enough extra to make it acceptable to the new owner. No wonder they were so keen to get it sorted.

All that pretending about having a 10 year plan etc and they know all along. Tut tut.

I hope I'm wrong but it's hard to see why JF would drastically improve T s & Cs when BACON are assimilated when they have fought so hard against against BALPA pay claims year in year out.

Flaps,

I don't think it is anywhere near fully funded. It has just been put into a state where it is fit for handover to another company based on the asumption that they will continue to contribute to it. if only it were as simple as you suggest.

Ham,

We can only assume you're not in Flybe, then. Such improvements were already in train, subject to a 'yes' ballot in the pay deal, closing tomorrow. It would be wrong to discuss the details yet as the ballot is not in, but hope for good news.

Flaps,
You am right,
Some real information would be more than timely.

Have you considered that the only other European organisation with black and silver uniforms was the SS.

They wern`t missed after they shut up shop and they didnt last the full thousand years either.

Love from Sunny Khazakstan.

People

Anotherlfaoperator says:

"From my own perspective, the majority of those I meet in crewrooms are fine folk, they are level headed, good aviators who are as dismayed at our lot as you'd expect."

I am not dissagreeing but this ongoing discussion about how Flybe pilots or BACON pilots are just muddies the waters. We are all simply people.

There will be headbangers & those who are a pure delight in both companies. It's the human race. As I and others have said - but will keep saying - PLEASE don't let the "them & us" people screw up the combined efforts of the two CCs who will be forced to look after thier constituencies.

When BRAL & Brymon merged the same expressions of fear & protectionsism existed but the CC's managed to work together and produced a greements that minimalised the impact and kept most pilots reasonable happy. That is the best you will get.

The surest way to scupper a similar result is to see the two pilot groups as somehow different. They are not, they all have the same anxieties. Help the CC's get the best deal they can.

} Nicely put Ted.
I was all ready for some more ironic, provocative stuff but I can`t use it in this context.
I shall have to reserve it until another headbanger gets going again, shame.
and I agree that this is probably the best page so far.
It would certainly seem to be the best long term future for both companies.
However I would remind you all that not every employee is crew and over 1000 ground staff look set to loose their jobs in the new year ( Dont worry about Willy Walsh, hes just made 1.5 million dumping share options) .
In Bristol crew room we`ve started a collection from crew to augment the ground staff Christmas Party fund. ( In order to show solidarity bruvvers),just a suggestion.

Borat

OK W/Borat,

If you fancy some controversy how about this?

Are you entirely happy with the ability of your CC to negotiate a deal such as the one I describe above?

Being on a CC is often a thankless task & I am not about to point fingers but given the critical time you are all in, perhaps now is the time to ensure that your CC is both supported and clear in what its priorities are.

They will need all the help they can get to deal with a very steep learning curve and should optimise CRM principles - IE grab all helpers and members who have skills to bring to the party.

Is that happenning?

BACON BRS Ground

Dear Borat
Your concern for the ground handling staff at BRS will not go unappreciated. Thanks from me, one of the CSMs, and thanks from the rest of the team at BRS.

At a meeting between Big Jim and the BACON staff reps at EXT 2 Thursdays ago, he said Flybe would not require any BACON ground handling at BRS. There have been comments further back in this thread about 50/60/70% of staff at BHX/MAN/EDI/GLA losing their jobs, but at BRS it will be 100%, including me. The initial state of shock has just about worn off, but it's becoming a real problem to keep everyone going. What will happen in the next few weeks is that the CS staff here will be leaving as and when they can. Most have little service, and waiting for a couple of hundred quid in redundancy money will not be enough to keep them from 'taking the orange'. I've started to have a recurring nightmare that I'll get into work at 0500 one morning and be the only one there. Obviously, we're not going to be recruiting, and our ability to handle the schedule, plus the 4 other airlines we handle 3rd party, will decline in the new year. All of you who are BRS based, or fly in and out of BRS, may find me on the flight deck telling you we've only managed to check-in half the passengers, and do you want to wait until we've finished, or go now. Also a request to be kind to your dispatcher, none of them currently will have a job in March.

Good luck groundbunnie I know it`s not a nice position to be in seeing all the staff leaving around you knowing you are the one with key to lock up at the end so to speak and walk away

Hello happy peoples, another burst of learnings from Khakstan.
Dear Exployted Person, I think we is all behinds our CC, all they have to do is ask and they will receive.Unfortunatly I am often informed that I have no skills to take any where

As far as controversy is concerned you dont need to create it for me, just look at Little Man`s post a bit down the page W`re just a bit too busy in Khakstan for me to bother with it just now

GroundBunnie Tanks for de thanks, hope u have a good party, you guys desereve it.

Love and Best wishes from Khakstan ( For a few select people)

Groundbunnie

The very very best of luck to you and your colleagues, I have just been made redundant myself (I finish Tuesday next week) for the first time in 17 years, I know how it feels and know what you are going through, look at it as a new start, one door closes etc etc, I have a professional flying career to look forward to hopefully, so it's come at the right time for me, hang in there, look forward not back, things will work out for the best

Thumbs up Hmmmm

Anyone who knows MH knows that LP is pretty much accurate. However, slagging him isn't constructive whatever the reasons. Apart from that LP, I think I agree pretty broadly with what you say, although as details emerge - assuming they ever do!!!!!!!!!! - I think feelings may run high initially. I just hope the loudmouths don't spoil it in Flbe for most of the rest of us.
I know Easyjet are taking us hand over fist for interviews, though haven't heard how many are being successful. Anybody know??
