Joseph82 16th Mar 2011 07:30

Guys,
From my understanding, the criteria for the HR calling u up for an interview are as follows:

1) It should be > 6 months since your last interview.
2) You should be below 32 years of age.
3) You should not be employed by / Bonded by SIA or any of its subsidaries.
4) Must meet the height and eye sight requirements.
5) Minimum diploma holder

Feel free to correct me or add on..

Stallone 16th Mar 2011 08:20

don't think so much about SIA now

go focus on your CX interview next week

truefaith 16th Mar 2011 17:38

I believe Joseph82.

Em...I thought somebody mentioned cut-off age is 31? Cannot be more than 31 right?

If HR requires age 32 and below, then, I may still have 1 cent hope bah.

For AirAsia, people over age of 40 still can get in as second officer. And I have seen Turkish AirlineS took in self-sponsored (low-timer) pilots age at 40 too. Don't why SIA don't allow.

I just read the news. Hopefully, S'pore aviation industry job employment can be better.

Parking arrangement at SIA ,Taining Centre

Does anyone knows where we can park at SIA training centre? I would be driving there but I am not too sure if I can park inside.

yshiai 17th Mar 2011 02:28

Parking at STC

U can change ur pass and park inside. But if u can't there's a carpark outside too where u can park. If not come to worse u can park on seagull walk. There should be one row of cars parked there..

Best of luck!!:ok:

Thanks for the info!

Suhas 17th Mar 2011 09:55

SIA Cadet

Guys, anyone happens to have HR contact details of SIA, Iam getting impatient to check if the application was correctly submitted.

Joseph82 17th Mar 2011 12:33

@truefaith, Hang in there bro.. i believe u are still eligible... try to target the walk-in interviews (If there are any this year) ...

@Suhas, SIA's HR is super unresponsive to enquiries and such... guess it's due to their heavy workload... id recommend u re-apply again if in doubt..

Suhas 17th Mar 2011 15:01

thanks Joseph, will wait for another week before doing so.

Dmits 19th Mar 2011 18:10

Suhas, mine also turned from Application to blank. Guess got to just re-apply and see how.

Application Status

Hi Guys,

I applied for the CP post on SIA's website in February and is invited to attend the interview. In the e-mail they sent, they require me to upload a passport sized photo into my profile.

However, when I tried logging on to my profile on their website, it states that I do not have any CVs/resumes uploaded. This shouldn't be the case as I have already uploaded my resume during my application and created a profile with them. Furthermore, the profile I created should be valid, hence the invitation for an interview.

Questions is, should I e-mail HR regarding this issue or should I create a new profile? Somehow, creating a new profile doesn't seem ideal as I already have a valid one and by registering again I might end up having 2 profiles.

Can somebody help me with this? Thank you in advance.

MR

Alchemist123 20th Mar 2011 10:49

Hi mrlabu,

I am having a similar issue to yours. I uploaded my resume/cv a month ago, and at that time I had no problems opening up the files which I had uploaded. Until recently, however, I had problems opening up the files. I am not sure if it's a general technical issue that applies to all applicants though.

Perhaps it may be good to email/call them to enquire. Since they have already informed you to come down for an interview, it should be fine for you to make these queries.

anyway, wish you all the best!

mrlabu 20th Mar 2011 12:08

Hey Alchemist,

Thanks for the heads up. I guess it's a technical issue since both of us encounter the same problem. I have e-mailed their HR to clarify. Will let you know there really is a technical problem.

MR

Blank status

Friends, any luck for those with blank status? its been one month exactly I submitted my application.

Red_devil 23rd Mar 2011 04:08

Hi guys, would like to know more on SIA's stance on partial colour blindness. Requirements stated in the website make no mention of it anywhere. Do u guys know if anyone who is partially colour blind and yet made it past the medical?

bennyintheair 23rd Mar 2011 16:38

excited... looking forward to it...

1) hey guys, i'm going for my 1st interview on 1st April 3pm. anyone on the same day? will be flying back for it, hope my preparation will suffice =)

2) I think i lost my Certificate of Service (NS) long ago, anyone knows how to get a new one? i.e. from cmpb, ex-unit etc?

0Punkstar0 24th Mar 2011 05:36

SIA cadet program

ive heard singapore airlines only takes male pilots. But the cadet program on the website has no mention about it. so can girls apply too?

Suhas 25th Mar 2011 02:31

thanks Blomqvist for updating, your info keeps my hope alive, I applied Feb 21, no calls still

Joseph82 25th Mar 2011 02:40

@ Benny & Blomqvist,
All the best for your interviews :ok:

@ 0Punkstar0
Ofcourse females are eligible to apply.. Ive heard that there is a female FO in silkair.

silentscope 25th Mar 2011 04:17

anyone below 26 years applied and got the interview?

Dmits 25th Mar 2011 04:24

Hi, jus as blank = invitation for interview as we witnessed in the case for Blomqvist, silkroad does not post any "rejection" status?

Alchemist123 25th Mar 2011 05:10

Seems like the blank out status could be a transitionary phase to being called for an interview.

Btw, has anyone heard of pple seeing a "rejected" status in silkroad so far? I understand in the past system there was such a status.

Now it seems there's only 3 status being shared in the forum - "Application", "Interviewing" and blank.

Dmits 25th Mar 2011 08:27

Shall we carry on consolidating the list of folks still awaiting for reply from SIA?

Alchemist 123 : showing "Application" status
Yshiai : showing "Application" status
Suhas : from "Application" status now turned to "Blank" status
Dmits : from "Application" status now turned to "Blank" status

CPL holders allowed?

i'm not sure if i shd be posting in this thread but noone in the other threads seems to have a definite answer. i'm a CPL holder from india who saw the cadet pilot ad for indians recently. they dont specifically mention whether CPL holders are allowed or not. any idea what their policy for the cadet program is vis a vis this issue?
