@ Aroumika
i might sound rather stupid, but i'm just curious, my roll number is around 4300, does this mean there's approximately 4500 applying for just 40 vacancies (from what i've heard) or are the roll numbers based purely on the centres?
if it's 40:4500, that's less than 1:100, pretty slim ratio

something like a hotel room number. 501 means 5th floor, room number 1
cheers,
P

In India, how often are the following issued? what is the duration of validity? what area is covered??
METAR, TAF, Sigmets.
there was also a question in the last Jet examination regarding the time for which the winds are sampled for a Metar??
any response is much appreciated.

Hi,
Can anybody help me out with these questions ?
1. In an aircraft with 100 seats but 49 passengers only, how many cabin crew should be present?
2. In a flight from Europe to North America in Summer will you have a headwind or a tailwind?
thanks in advance, if you can also tell me where i can study more about the two mentioned questions, would be great!
cheers,
P

36. an a/c takes off with the elevator control locks still in position. it is found to be nose heavy :
ans. backward movement of the trim wheel would increase nose heaviness.
I guess you should consider the elevator "locked" and then do the quesiton you should understand the things then trim tab is not helping

Metar-A METAR is not valid for any time period. It is an actual observation at a specific time. They are normally made at hourly or half hourly intervals. If the weather changes by a significant degree a special observation,SPECI, will be made and issued.
TAF- it is issued by CLASS I met offices, valid for 9hrs with maximun upto 24hrs. TAF valid for 9hrs issued every 3hrs and taf valid for 12-24hrs issued every 6hrs.
SIGMET- it is issued for each FIR every 3hrs commencing from 0100UTC. AND if sigmet is issued for volcanic ash or cyclone it is issued for 12hrs before the validity period and reviewed every 3hrs.
it is issued bye MWO.
