If some1 could explain me these 2 question :
Oxford Book no. 13, chapter 11 CONTROLS. Q 35 and 36

35. an a/c has a tendency to fly right wing low with hands off. it is trimmed with a tab on the left aileron, the trim tab will :

ans. move down causing the left aileron to move up, right aileron to move down

36. an a/c takes off with the elevator control locks still in position. it is found to be nose heavy :

ans. backward movement of the trim wheel would increase nose heaviness.

HOW ???????

"When a trim tab is employed, it is moved into the slipstream opposite to the control surface's desired deflection. For example, in order to trim an elevator to hold the nose down, the elevator's trim tab will actually rise up into the slipstream. The increased pressure on top of the trim tab surface caused by raising it will then deflect the entire elevator slab down slightly, causing the tail to rise and the aircraft's nose to move down."

uniform:

A.35) tip: think tab down, wing down. And vice versa.
Here,u wanna raise right wing, hence u got
lower left wing. Therefore, tab dn. 4 wing dn. Remember the aileron in d middle goes up,as tab goes dn.

Could u plz paste other options of Q.36

Whats wrong with wiki?
As long as you verify the sources, and in no way I claim it as mine hence the quotations.

The example given is that of an elevator but it clearly tells how it is used in conjunction with a control surface.

yup true superd, and the same thing goes for the aileron trim tabs,so as per the Q 35 the trim tab of the left aileron will move down causing the left aileron move up and due to that the right aileron will move down to counter the tendency to fly right.
As far as the next Q 36 is concerned in that case,If the aircraft takes off with the elevator is locked as with a control lock, the use of trim will be backwards(i.e opposite). Any use of the trim wheel will be as an elevator. To raise the nose of the aircraft you must raise the trim tab. Confusing but true.

cobracommander u might be right as they all having same meaning but m not too sure what were the option given at tht time

soulplane if fuel flow is reduced by 3% then distance to pnr will increase by 3%,as pnr is directly proportional to endurance as quoted in previous posts by someone and in ur next question cp will remain same but the ETA increases.
Just wonder are you having the jet aug 10' paper.

Thanks all for sharing knowledge
in the 35th i am confused with the que itself, wht they really want to ask.
is it abt wht is making the a/c to fly with right wing low or what action shud be taking to compensate that??

35. an a/c has a tendency to fly right wing low with hands off. it is trimmed with a tab on the left aileron, the trim tab will :

ans. move down causing the left aileron to move up, right aileron to move down

it is trimmed with a tab on the left aileron, the trim tab will -> according to me it is asked abt the trim condition which is making it to fly with right wing low...... then the left trim shud go up, i.e. opposite to aileron

Uniform the question is what would you do with trim tab on the left wing to counter this situation

so left aileron up ---> this means left trim tab down
