I agree with aviation insider.considering the trend in the past 1 yr.every company except 9w and nacil has been recruiting through the back door. The good old days(2003 to 2007,wen even many drunk camels got into the cockpit ) will take many years or may never cum.So the synonyms mentioned in my title will rule.cheers

Hello, frustrated one.
The last year has been primarily ATP guys as well as cadets. So yes, a little more open to the rest of the flock.
Rest assured I have every conviction that key people will be raking in the big bucks in the upcoming recruitment drive hence the need to tell the cadets to themselves.

Bangladesh United Airways HAS one NEW AIRCRAFT.
THT MEANS 5 VACANCIES.
AND EVERY1 IS THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD IS AFTER THM.
DO U THINK ITS WORTH GETTING A VISA, GIVING AN INTERVIEW IN DHAKA AND COMING BACK FOR SUCH A SLIM CHANCE????
I doubt whether any Indian will get them, but even if they do I guess a bong stands more chance due to local language factor.

Spice Jet
Why is every one so curious about knowing when Spice Jet will start recruiting "Trainee Pilots".Only those should take interest whos Dads and Uncles are working with Spice Jet (As Commanders ofcourse!!) or have very strong JUGAAD (The word very fondly and frequently used in Indian aviation industry now a days!!).Company may say that it will be a fare game but come on who can trust them looking at the present scenario?(40 something vacancies and atleast 3000 applicants, fare game?bull st.).I dont want to sound negative nor want to let any ones moral down but I've seen JUGAADS being used even to grab Ground Instructor's job.Spice Jet job is much better than that ( Ground Instructor's job= Maruti800, Spice Jet Trainee FO = BMW 5 serise!!!).Think for your selves!!
Cheers and happy landings!!

I'd prefer to drive anything that my credentials have earned me Jimmy(Let it be Maruti-800,BMW 5 or a Bicycle) !!
P.S : Driving a BMW 5 series (which means getting recruited for a "Trainee FO" job) will eventually lead you to driving 737-800 (PIC).It Reminds me of a catch line used by a chocolate company " Ask youself... Have you really earned it?" Cheers and happy landings to all !!

@ Silver-Raptor,
Conditions are not too helping for low time pilots through out the world at this moment.Doesnt seem to be any hiring going on.If you want to find out the present scenario in a perticular continent ( E.g. Africa) follow the threads of that continent. It will help you get a clear picture about that place. Cheers and Happy landings!!

@ Silver-Raptor and Others,
I can very well relate to your frustration and agony raptor. It is not easy to live this time. What we are witnessing is the worst recession in the history of aviation industry ever(Far more worst than the Great Depression as well). But patience is a virtue. We'll have to be patient till the time opportunities start coming by.
Just like you many other low time pilots are willing to offer their services at no cost considering the present situation.Rightly so.. you can not breathe if you are submerged in deep waters(without oxygen tanks ofcourse!!) so in order to breathe and stay alive one makes an attempt to swim up to the surface. That exactly is what all the low time pilots are trying to do.They are trying to swim up to the surface in order to take oxygen to stay alive ( By offering to work for free,Self sponsored TR etc). But many senior aviators dont vouch for it and blame low time pilots for lowering the bars for pilots in aviation. They say they have to suffer because of the low time pilots because the companies are asking them to do the same ( Self sponsor TR,Take a cut in salary package etc).Well they are also right to an extent but its the strugle for survival for low time pilots.I forsee more and more fresh pilots swimming up to the surface for fresh air unless the situation takes a complete U-turn (not happening in near future).Self sponsored TRs have become a standard and mendatory clause in the contracts offered by airlines through out the world (Dont see that changing in the future as well) for starters. My question to the senior aviators is dont the low time aviators have a right to make and effort to swim up to the surface and breathe oxygen in order to keep them alive? Can you relate to the problems the freshers are facing? Is struggle for survival a bad thing?
