No, they are not let out for 6 months until they finish their ATPL exams.
Of course they can go home for the weekends. Even the Army lets you book out on weekends.

When is course 145 slated to commence?
I was told to be ready for May 15th course.... but still waiting for further instructions. I think a course just started around March 27th right?
Anyone able to clarify?

Singapore Flying College
22 Compass Road, Jandakot Airport, Jandakot, WA 6164.
This is the address of the college. The Dorm is just across the road from the college. All mails will be sent to the college and a duty cadet will bring them over to the dorm.

Hi Sonic,
Not really, but to give a little boost to the 'late' bloomers, life's a journey, enjoy every minute if you can, and believe me, there is light at the end of the tunnel, ... you'll get there..
(its ok if you just started to learn how to weather the storm at 30 ('was there) when your buddy from the Nth already basking in the sun at that age..
Goodluck !

Hi guys!
I've just recently applied for the SIA Cadet Pilot program... Was banking my hopes on Etihad's cadet pilot program too this September but apparently they pulled out their assessment in Singapore.
Was wondering though, when I applied to SIA through the online system, I didn't get any assessments... I remembered the previous time I applied (about 8 months back where I got rejected even before the first interview), there was an assessment phase where you have to answer a couple of questions, like your visual acuity etc. Is the assessment phase gone now, or should I drop them a mail to ask?
Congrats to those who already got in, and good luck to those who are still trying to get in the program (like yours truly :P).

i just submitted my application this afternoon and got an email reply 2 hours later for first interview next week. I wanna check with you guys on roughly how long the test will take? coz I have a project presentation same day late afternoon (3.30pm). If this interview won't take too much time, then I can confirm with them. My interview session is around 9.00am. thanks!

Hey guys, I've just got my confirmation too for an interview next week! BTW, this may seem like a stupid question, but just wondering usually would a nice shirt and tie do for the interview, or should I wear a suit?
From what I read in this topic, first interview shd be something like 10 mins-1 hour, depending on your interview itself... Best of luck to you! Maybe we will meet each other during the interview.

Shirt + Tie will be good. Suit is optional.
Do bring a pen because you need to fill up some forms.
Remember to bring all the necessary documents and their photocopies.
Be there early.
Finally, good luck.
