Hi All,

I applied yesterday & got an interview on this coming Friday 12th Nov. Anyone going on this date?
I am going for this Friday interview. See you there. Mine is at 8:30am. What time is yours?
Hmmm.... that's fast. I applied on the 25th Oct and yet to hear from them. Is it due to the fact that I will be graduating only next may?

crazy_spinner : Yes, should be due to your studies.

rainmaster: mine is at 2.30pm.

Just a question, have anyone drive to STC before? Cos I email and check, no reply yet if I can drive into the premises.

@chansm78: yes you can drive in, you just have to park at the carpark outside the gate and walk into STC, which is not very far in.

@edmarlo: Congrats and welcome to Course 159!

I read in SIA website that they accept Singapore PR as cadet pilot. I am just wondering regarding the percentage of PR getting accepted as pilot because I think they prefer Singaporean nationals more than PR. I am 27 yrs old currently working as engineer here in Singapore for 3 years. I am already earning quite okay for my job, do you think guys it's okay to go back to minimum salary? Is it worth it?

I am currently employed and my company requires us to submit resignation letter two months before resignation. Will it affect my application since most of these cadet pilots come in batches?

Thanks for the reply!

1st interview done.

Had mine this morning. It lasted 45mins. Damn the room was cold. Anyways, would like to thank Drareg. Your heads up really helped a lot At this point, I have no idea whether the interview was successful or not. Just have to wait for the call

@ danielthemc > Drareg didn't actually give me answers. He basically told me to read up everything on aviation and aerodynamics. So I just read and understand everything that I could find

Mature Working Candidates

Hi all,

More of a question for mature candidates who have cleared the 2nd interview and currently going through training or already working now.

Anyone got offered the contract and requested to join at a later batch or start date, perhaps due to job obligations or other personal commitments.

Is HR ok with that or is that a strict no-no non-negotiable thing?

Thanks.

@ rainmaster : Hey no worries mate, you are most welcome! They'll most likely send out the email by next week to inform those who clear the 1st interview and invite them for the 2nd on a Wednesday. Good luck.

@ danielthemc : Current affairs is rather important especially now with all these Aircraft problems.

@ moccajava : I don't think it would be a problem if you request to push back your start date due to valid reasons. The problem is not knowing when will they re-schedule you again. All the best!

thanks merino208/drareg

btw, could I ask if the final interview and tea party are combined into a single session, like is the interview conducted during the tea party itself or is it still a separate event?

thanks again

@moccajava : mate, the Final Interview will be held separately from the tea party. The tea party will be held on the same day as the Final Interview and only after all of the interviewees on that day have completed the Final Interview then the tea party will begin. Do not worry, it will come in the email if all's good. Good luck!

Cheers
SA

Need some advice

Hi Guys,

I am new here. I submitted the Cadet Pilot application online on the 26th Sept and sadly the status is rejection (1).

I am 30 years old this year, can I know is that the reason why the system rejected my application?

Prior to this application, I actually applied for the same position few years ago (somewhere in 2005) and attended the first round of interview (well, apparently I failed if not I will not be posting here). Will the system reject my application knowing that I applied the same position before?

Lastly, can I know I have to wait for how long before I can re-submit my application. I realised that a lot of my information went missing or messed up after I logged in again to view my profile. I tried to contact SIA, but they never replied my queries.

So, please enlighten me....

Xie Xie and Thanks a million.

From,
Magician1980

@Magician1980: Only SIA can answer why they reject you. In the case of re-applying, you can apply again after 6 month if i didnt rem wrongly.

did something significant happen back in the interview in 2005 that they deem they will never give you another chance even if you reapply??

Well, not that I can recall anything significant happened. Just a normal interview which lasted about 20 mins.

Back by then, the application was not done using the online system.

I am just worried because the system messed up my information, because when I logged in a few days after I realised a some of my information has gone missing or messed up.

Also, I do hope age is not the first killing step!

Ai... can someone help me?

Thanks

Yup, it is true that 31 is the maximum age(as advertised). However, how many applicants aged above 30 actually got in?
From what i know, most pple who got into recent courses are below age 29.

Sorry, but this is the sad and cruel truth. I'm just stating a statistical fact.
