whilst visiting the church at elloughton in east yorks, a look at the graveyard revealed 4 graves of airmen killed and buried there. one caught my eye...

no, not a vc10 as the wings definitely had 2...

no, not a vc10 as the wings definitely had 2 engines in each wing root. i would recognise a vc10 as i flew back from ascension islands in one after spending 11 1/2 hrs in a hercules flying falklands...

i never thought about the nimrod,as the aircraft i saw was at medium height and i was directly underneath it may not have been t-tail.yes, probably a nimrod.

rocket power

an OPEL SANDER RAK flew under rocket power in 1929, reaching 95mph in the process. it must have been interesting as it was a wood and canvas machine more like a training glider with twin booms
