The advantage of a sim like the one on the sunshine coast is the instuctor can fail the engine at anytime...

But the 190 flying is about to increase post May to cover the 737's while they get the new cabins, so at this stage no surplus of crew, just a few delayed command courses.

True Warped wings things will most likely slow again next year, but if the A330 numbers increase as per the rumours and the 190's stay then commands could still run around the 3 - 5 year mark.

The senior pilots are still there in the Brisbane and Melbourne bases, the 2-3 year commands are in Perth (E-jet) and Sydney (B737 and Ejet).

Don't know about V, but at Virgin Blue it doesn't matter if you have 737 time, come April all new pilots start on the Ejet.

190 cleared to operate into PMQ and it's runway is less than 1800m, Maroochy is around that and 737s, A320s and the 190 operate out of there so ROK shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks XR, so if it is a 70 seat turboprop then the pay would be a minimum of $97K and perhaps around the $110-115k for a 1st year captain.

Looks like REX and Qlink will be bleeding pilots again.

Yes it was only for Sydney, my guess is Brisbane 737 commands still require 7+ years of service and Melbourne 5+. Don't think there will be 737 commands in Brisbane for a while.
