We have both level D and B 737 sims. I never had any problems with V1 cuts in the level D sim, but i find them quite difficult in the level B sim. It just does not feel right and I am never happy...

Maybe the aircraft was downgraded to CAT I. Sometimes we have to do practise CAT II/III approaches due to some problem with the AFCS, and then an avionics engineer has to sign it off when enough...

Is there not an alternate holding at DAYNE when the MCT VOR/DME is u/s? It has 3.1nm legs. Maybe the FMC uses this as the default for some reason?

BOAC is right. I bug the speed in the middle of the amber bands and let the speed do it's own thing within reason. The bugged speed works out around M0.77 at altitude and then the actual speed...

Even if there was a crosswind the aircraft would just crab into the wind, it would not bank. Maybe the rudder was not trimmed properly, this could cause a slight bank but I don't think it would...
