BAeS Hawk Engineer

Good afternoon Ppruners,

I'm looking to make contact with an experienced Hawk engineer (not T2), who would be available to do a little consulting with me for a few days at the end of Sep.

Brawdy 55

This is such sad news. Dick was someone who motivated/encouraged me to move from my role as a young pilot off controller (Spot) at Brawdy towards my dream of flying. We flew together countless times,...

Be interesting to see how this affects Rafale. Dassault struggling to sort the hugely reduced India order due, I’m led to believe by offset issues. And if Typhoon is allegedly gen 4.5, what can...

A different system

This is interesting. In my experience at the similar base, albeit a while ago, fast jet staff officers from HQs around France would come down to fly their allocated 12 hours (I think) per year. Some...

A great loss. He was a real character on the OCU, as were the rest of his cse (eh BV)! I shall remember the keen talented young pilot stepping off into his career. My thoughts are with his family.

TGV

Train was a prototype TGV that derailed. 7 dead and 7 injured. Coach fell off bridge into river. Too high a speed is being quoted by local officials. Unlikely to be connected to the Paris tragedy.

For those who speak French, a particularly moving tribute on an excellent French military blog. What. A dreadful, dreadful loss of life. As a TLP graduate myself, this is simply unimaginable.
