Flt Lt then Sqn Ldr Ian Wood, 63 Sqn Chivenor, did two seasons in the first black Hawk XX230. Early 90s, I would guess at 90/91 as we reformed as 19(R) Sqn in Aug 92.

Simon Meade in 1988.

He was kind enough to let me sit in the back seat when he flew over to Scampton for a famil day with the Red Arrows. He ran through his solo routine on the way home to Chivenor.

Charlie McIlroy for two seasons in the early 1980s.

My best guess is 1983 and 1984 because he was in the Red Arrows 1985 – 1987 (Synchro lead in 1987) and, if I recall correctly from such a long time ago, he was selected for the Arrows during his second year as the Hawk solo display pilot.

Brawdy

Dave Wilson and Dick Lotinga from Brawdy 80 81ish and if I recall correctly Chris Hurst although he might have done the Hunter.

STC Hawk aeros

Don't recall if Simon Meade displayed for 2 seasons but he definitely flew the summer of 1989.

John Carter (Brawdy 234 Sqn) 2 seasons, 1990 & 1991. Ian Wood 1992...not sure if a second season.

Was this the Mike Carter who was also a member of the Red Arrows eventually?

Mark Linney now flies Golden Apple's F-86A Sabre based at IWM Duxford amongst other aircraft

Just sorting some papers and have come across a programme for the celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of RAF Rudloe Manor on 6 Jul 90. It shows that Flt Lt M Linney of RAF Valley did a display in a Hawk.

Jim Mardon?

Charlie McIlroy for two seasons in the early 1980s.
Of all the Hawk solo displays I've watched, Charlie's was the best - punchy and precise every time.
