I can recommend "Handling the Big Jets" by D. P. Davies. It maybe a little advanced if you´ve not got any flying experience but i´d recommend it to any wannabe.;)

I think that if the RAF have a good correlation between the GAPAN tests and a persons ability to complete flying training, we should not believe it any different for those taking the tests outside...
