Flying by Attitude in circuit work

It is a great idea and in the olden days was used a lot. The outside air temperature gauge on the windscreen showed your height in the circuit, if you needed it.

Cargo "Tramps"

Suggest you contact Southern Air Transport who have flown Hercules and other aircraft, on cargo carrying all over the world, for a very long time. There has to be many stories out there

Positive rate or positive climb calls after take-off.

Make sure that you do have a positive rate before selecting the undercarriage up. The VSI is not as good as the IVSI in giving you this information.

IFR suggestions

VSI and IVSI:

Both served me well during my career, I always used the VSI as a trend instrument and the actual IVSI as a real time reflection of what the aircraft was doing.

It can be done and was done in the 1960's on the Eastern Seaboard of NSW, using a combination of GCA /PAR, plenty of practice, good controllers, keen pilots.

Good ole days at the Royal at Banstown

Remember Ken Hammond, the Manager of the Royal and the friendly office staff in the early 1960's. The other end of the building was the Instructor's 'Den' with all sorts of stories from there.

The trip from Nome to Magadan and Japan

The trip as above has been done many times in Corporate / GA type aircraft in the past, spectacular mountain , snow and ice scenery. It is an alternative way to get from USA to Australia.

As difficult as it may be, drains should be done prior to Flight. If you leave it to other people or don't do it, then look for another job.
