On the A330, if I remember right with anti-skid...

On the A330, if I remember right with anti-skid off we had to limit brake pressure to 1000 psi. Quite hard to do so in short bumpy runways .

Looks like this official statement by Cathay Pacific as reported here indicates the two passengers were indeed officially thanked. I am not sure if he was offered first clas travel for life though.
