The 30-year-old, who reportedly works for Malaysian Airlines, was picked up on Tuesday when customs officers searched his suitcase when he arrived at Sydney airport on a flight from his homeland.
During the check, they allegedly found five kilograms (11 pounds) of methamphetamine.
Police said they had been watching the man since August last year when they said he imported 1.4 kilograms of heroin into the country and delivered it to a man at a Sydney hotel, who was later arrested.
Officials said the pilot was working when he was apprehended with Sydney's Daily Telegraph saying he worked for Malaysian Airlines, although this could not be confirmed.

The Star, The Asia News Network, Petaling Jaya | Thu, 01/12/2012 11:59 AM
A 30-year-old Malaysian pilot was caught at the Sydney airport Tuesday, trying to smuggle five kilograms of methamphetamie into Australia, has been charged in a magistrates court.
Thiagu Supramaniam, a Malaysian Airlines pilot, who was charged for the offence Thursday, had been declined bail, according to The Telegraph, an Australian based newspaper.
Thiagu had been charged with two counts of importing a commercial quantity of a border-controlled drug, one allegedly relating to a drug deal in a Sydney hotel last August.
The substance, containing a "white crystalline substance" that was packed in six packets, was found in his suitcase when Australian Federal Police (AFP) nabbed him at the airport.
The maximum penalty for the offences is life imprisonment and/or an A$825,000 fine and 25 years imprisonment and or a $550,000 fine respectively.
The AFP have been investigating Thiagu since August when he allegedly delivered 1.4kg of heroin to a man at a Sydney hotel on August 7. That man was arrested and charged.
The case has been adjourned and would returns to court next week.

Lucky for him the AFP did not tip off the local cops at KLIA...it's " hukuman mati " if he was nabbed in bolehland. Never mind the fact he is an " anan "; scums like this should be punished to the fullest.

The news made it to the Dunnunda & Godzone forum; luckily we were forewarned here! At MEL, some QF crew asked me about it...I just joked that the suspected felon just wanted to emulate the early aussies; ie get to Sydney's Rocks in balls and chains instead of just by plane. The fair dinkum wasn't amused at all!
Maybe he could claim asylum after incarceration by virtue of the existence of the " hukuman mati " in bolehland. What a gain for jetstar if that happens!

Well the purveyor of pedophilic porn was the son of a high ranking government official and got away lightly. Now it remains to be seen how this guy fare in bolehland once he is released from an Aussie jail. Can the Malaysian authorities charge him again for the same official? Any double jeopardy thingy across international borders?
'Mat Kilau Ha ha bakutteh, nice one! I guessed the fair dinkum didn't know what hit him.'
