Omanair is similar

in Omanair the roster is all over the place and lots of consecutive night flying followed by two days and another two nights. The only way to avoid an accident is to call in sick.

All very true. Expat FOs have around 12-18 months to find a new job and Captains until end of 2012.

Of course this hasn't been officially announced but if you look around and ask enough questions...

I just read that FlyDubai has appointed CTC to select their pilots.

For the first part of the selection they are asking candidates to pay £150.00.
We are about to have a massive pilot shortage...

All crew have been saying that the new tagline is:

90% of expat pilots in Omanair are looking to move. The other 10% are either bonded on A330, very near retirement or bonded for Command upgrade. There are also a few still living in fairy land...

I believe the price Blink paid for their Mustangs is higher than what they are going for today. So I imagine they are struggling and thought selling a few planes may help the business.

Kamechaser, I guess that sums it all up. I must say though that the Emirates Provident Fund looks attractive. Even if it would take 7 years to command and you stay 10 you may end up being better off...
