At Hillsboro Aviation in Oregon it is PPL plus 50 hrs, but I'm not sure wether this is an official FAA/Visa rule or just a school rule.

Heli-Holland emailed me that their IR courses result in a JAA IR not a national IR. But i think that companies prefer an ir on a bigger aircraft

All of our operations are single pilot and as such we require a minimum of 2000 hours helicopter including 500 hours twin turbine.

he's right 500 ft for open terrain and 1000 ft for cities. I found it on a site of a dutch helicopter school. they should know it.
