IFMU. i had heard they were challenging to fly at full speed with out SAS. which is im guessing is the auto pilot. correct me if im wrong.
im hoping to get a crack at them in the next couple of years as a coey.
SAS is Stability Augmentation System. It's rate feedback for stability. I didn't fly with any of the autopilot functions like attitude hold. I turned trim off and pretty much just flew it. No way was I going to let the autopilot have any of the fun on my 4 hours.

Wow, what a question. What I would most like to fly (that I haven't already)?
In the following order.....

My own machine!
then (with appropriate ordnance included of course.... ):
Rooivalk the ultimate gunship
AH-1Z Cobra the latest cockpit systems and I've always wanted to fly a Cobra. The AH-1J or T if the Z is not available!
A129 Mongoose agile and sexy are it's middle names
Bell 214 ST they just dont make them like this anymore
Bell 230 they just dont make them anymore and they look great
MD 902 Unique. and they may not make them much longer
KA-50 Russian attack power: love to sample it
S 92 A Black Hawk that you can walk around the back in, fantastic!
the A-10! I know its not a helicopter - but it's so good it could be squeezed into anyone's wish list!

....but really I'll fly anything that is free and looks safe!!

I'd like to fly one of these:

(the one on top )

That said, I'd love to fly a BO105 (or anything else that can do backflips or fly upside down).

In the real world, at this point in my flying career, I'd be pretty thrilled to be let out in a jetranger (ie. anything bigger than a robbo)...

MD500.

For looks. Its the Lamborghini Countach Poster-boy of Helicopters - it's just not possible to find a sleeker machine. An aesthetically perfect tear-drop shape. Like the Jetranger, its become ubiquitous - and as a 'classic' everything is measured against it. Sure, some EC's are great looking machines, but in my eyes just don't quite compare. Kind of like Japanese sports cars - no matter how good they look, they're still not a Ferrari.

Of course the BO105 doesnt quite have the looks but sure does have the performance.
I'd like to fly the Lynx just because its the fastest - and an empty Chinook or Aircrane because of the size and power.

Lockheed AH-56 Cheyenne EMS derivative with a cabin large enough for three seats and a stretcher so we can put the in state King Airs out of business.

Kamov V-100 side by side tandem rotor. Loose the weapons systems and go faster.

MD500, the lamborghini under the helicopters?

I think its a very ugly helicopter; his leggs dont fit, football-shaped boddy and a strange hat under/behind the rotor.

But that is just mine opinion

If you talk to anybody who worked on it, I don't think any of them would consider it a dream machine.

Smile Dream Helikopter?

Thier are a number of helicopters out their that would be in this category but it would have to be in order -: BV234 Chinook
AS332 Super Puma
EC155
EH101
S76
S61
The S-92 I,m affraid is too ugly it look's like a flying box it is as though no thought went in to the design of this helicopter, it will never be a classic like the Chinook or Puma.

Sikorsky try again!!!!!

may be you will succeed next time!!!!!

I'm sure their will be someone out their that will disagree with this but tell some who cares.

Whirls, a lady of exceptional taste. The mighty wokka may be big and noisy but there is nothing lumbering about it. With 8000shp in your left hand an empty cab performs very nicely - just try a bit of low level fighter affil. Combine that with a three-gun fit, a robust, reliable, proven design, a pretty comprehensive self defence suite, a great bunch of colleagues and you've got an all round good deal. So you want to have a ride in one, Whirls? If you're hot enough, I'm sure we could work something out.

Pandalet, the Halo certainly is an impressive beast - the size of an airliner but it can hover! Just to 'invert' that pic of yours, when I was operating Chinnies in Iraq, close to Shaibah, there was a Halo abandoned in the desert having been damaged (possibly LGBed) previously. When I returned 6 months later, the aircraft had been stripped to virtually nothing by local looters and scrappies. Unfortunately, I don't have any pics of that but it can still be seen on Google Earth - just.

My dream helo ... Ka50/52 Hokum. A true battlefield predator and possibly as good looking as rotary gets.

Fg Off Max Stout,

ooh, neat! counter-rotating blades = no tail rotor?

I'd trade my virginity for a wokka ride...assuming I could remember where I left it How 'bout a DAB radio instead?

I just love the idea of flying something that's bigger than my house and requires 4 specialists to operate
