Don't forget you can do modular at Oxford as well - so they may have spent the same as any other modular and gone to Ryanair. He has not stated that he was an integrated.

I have to agree with above -

To be a commercial pilot you don't need to have any qualfications as such.

There is nothing stopping anyone from entering a small flying school to gain their PPL...

I wouldn't knock anyone if they thought this course was right for them.

However, I just think if youre going pay for a type rating and get line experience. You may as well just do the Ryanair...
