In visible moisture turn on the anti ice. During descent this is really cruical. Doesnt prevent internal icing (Cowls heated only on big engines) but restarts immedeatly when water/air mixture comes...

The terrain was propably not lighted and looks steep there, gear and flaps in landing position to silence EGPWS, sinkrate not that high.

On my plane i would only be warned by stepdown constraints....

To get this right. A full load needs to be expressed in weight then compare the range.

A340 300 max payload ~ 50 tonnes range 6000NM.

B777 200ER (not LR) ~ 60 tonnes range 7500NM.

Flying speeds lower than LRC is at the present a standard in our ops.
To me it was always clear the most economical speed is LRC (assumtion - no wind of course)...
