Spot on! Couldn't have said it better myself.
Should be compulsory watching by all Chiefs and PA Members ( Sorry I forgot PCC's, - In that case forget it)
Inspired film making and so accurate.

Waggling Digit, you state
Umm well unless things change a lot of Observers WILL be taking a big paycut thanks to Winsor, still to be sorted I believe... But as the wonderful Tory Govt want further cuts expect no change out of the system.
In fact expect NPAS to reduce the fleet even further. I fear the whole thing will be run as a cost cutting measure and the large metropolitan forces will suffer the most in lower response times etc.
I have read a lot of your posts and I wonder what world you live in? Is it full of roses and pretty little ba-lambs bouncing about in the fields? A reality check is needed, small the roses..they are full of shyte, check the lambs, they probably have 25% horsemeat in them...
To put a slightly different slant on this and using an example from private industry, how would the 'moaners' on here feel if the Home Sec had said, "we will keep all helicopters with no base closures, but you all have to take a 10% wage cut to cover it" anyone want to volunteer for that?

Vol de rol,
I live in a world of reality, where money talks and ********* walks. A world where a profligate Labour government brought its popularity and left the country in the state it's in now and where sadly people with short memories make comments like
(which is factually wrong, we have a coalition govt.)
No doubt Labour will win a landslide and come back to spend more and blame the previous government for the cuts and shortages.......and the circle of life goes on.
You see V in this world we have to make cuts and its twenty cops on the beat, or a helicopter. It's a no brainier despite some if the elitist whining and moaning that takes place on here. In the eyes of many helicopters do not make arrests, cops on the ground do that.
I suggest you wake up and smell the roses, cuts are all around us. Or will you continue to fiddle whilst Rome burns?

Words of wisdom from the wise owl
Yes the Labour were a crock of shyte, this lot are no better, obviously your a Tory lover as you try and pop the blame the tail dragger Lib Dem's way
Are you included in the "many" if so I think you are being at the least dis-generous to the other crew members on here, or at worst totally incompetent as you fail to understand the actual work they do?
So your saying we have to make cuts? Does the criminal make cuts?? Are you one of the idiots that believes crime is falling (another Tory myth breed by SMT that will sing any tune the home office wish)
By the way I am not a Labour man, I was a Tory!!! I am not ashamed to say, I am ashamed of the Tory party as they lied to everyone and the lies continue. Sad to see that they fool some though isn't it

Please don't try and suggest my political affiliations
I was pointing out a discrepancy in YOUR post, not explain my own bias. My politics are between the ballot box and myself. I am fooled by none of their spin.
Whilst we are talking about being factually correct, the only people aircrew actually arrest are the ones that get gripped when (very rarely) Police aircraft land to make an arrest, in the vast majority of cases the aircraft crew assist the ground units by guiding them to a position where they can effect an arrest.
Air Support is exactly that, we are a support service for officers on the ground, some people have been that long in Air Support that they start to believe their own propaganda Air Support is not a panacea it is a 'nice to have'.
Crime figures, the bluntest tool in the box. Easy to manipulate to say exactly what you want it to say, like all statistics.
Yes we do have to make cuts, the criminal will do as they have always done and seize any opportunity given. There is precious little we can do about it.
If you want to get into a long argument about society and it's attitudes to crime and punishment. The way we have over a number of years become a more liberal tolerant society then please do, but at the moment we have to accept
If you think that is untrue, have a read of this
One reviewer said,
I am not naive, I am a realist. The writing is on the wall, we can fight and try and save Air Support whilst the Police service goes down the pan.....back to fiddling.

- The Police are in for a kicking
- Society cares little about this.
- Political spin aided by the press is allowing the Government to do it.

One reviewer said,
That said, whilst this book is written about the Police, the circumstances are not specific, and this well-researched and neutrally-approached book could be the blueprint for a whole host of other public services being sold off. What James writes about I could easily see being applied to the NHS, Local Authorities, Fire Services, Education.... Cripple it, cut it to the point it begins to fail, then once you publicise how it isn't working offer an alternative of privatisation taking over. All whilst lining the pockets of those in charge.

Wagging finger is an apt name, I bet your a bundle of fun on your unit! Your basis of arrests is bizarre whilst hands on is correct and if that's all it is judged on then air support fails, however without the dedication of the crew the criminal would have got away, but you fail to recognise this?
Yes the police are in for a kicking and the Tory led press, Daily Mail lead the way on a daily basis.
Btw I still think your a Tory in denial

Are you able to say what is causing the unhappiness,
and what is being doen to address any problems ?
and what is being doen to address any problems ?
One aircraft has been unavailable for normal tasking, during the day, for the past 2/3 weeks due to being on standby for an ongoing op. That's likely to continue for a while.
As for the 902. Well would you buy one? The guys there are pulling their hair out over it's serviceability. There's some numbers kicking around somewhere for it's downtime for unscheduled maintenance. I'll see if I can find them.
The quality of tasking ain't getting any better either. Trying to get basic information like postcode, talk group, log number and even the requesting force is like pulling teeth. Painful.
What's being done? No idea. We make our views known, but how far it goes is anyone's guess. Some might say they're just little things. Maybe, but put them all together and folks aren't happy.
Still off for a few days AL, so eyes closed and...relax.
