Are you able to say what is causing the unhappiness,
and what is being doen to address any problems ?
Hmm...mainly shifts and manpower levels. Some have worked 6 weeks without a weekend off. Shifts are getting changed at short notice due to lack of Observers. One unit had to close due to sickness. Not just because 8 is not enough, but also one unit is undermanned anyway which makes the problem worse. One guy came off nights and was asked to start a night shift at another unit 8 hours later. That would be after the drive home which was just over an hour and then a 1h 45m drive for the next shift. Not a lot of time for sleep there. He declined. Another worked 7 nights out of 10 duties. Some aren't pulling their weight with regards to making things just a bit easier.

One aircraft has been unavailable for normal tasking, during the day, for the past 2/3 weeks due to being on standby for an ongoing op. That's likely to continue for a while.

As for the 902. Well would you buy one? The guys there are pulling their hair out over it's serviceability. There's some numbers kicking around somewhere for it's downtime for unscheduled maintenance. I'll see if I can find them.

The quality of tasking ain't getting any better either. Trying to get basic information like postcode, talk group, log number and even the requesting force is like pulling teeth. Painful.

What's being done? No idea. We make our views known, but how far it goes is anyone's guess. Some might say they're just little things. Maybe, but put them all together and folks aren't happy.

Still off for a few days AL, so eyes closed and...relax.
