Who uses a 61 as a private machine?
I could tell you, but then again I'd have to shoot you.......... ...

Will you be more impressed if you hear that the one who used to use the S 61, now uses a corporate S 92. Having seen the size of his BJ I guess he can afford it though. (He once hired an EH101!!)

Some from the old days
Whilst rooting out some old phots for an article that will appear in next months Motor Boat and Yachting magazine I found a bunch of interesting pictures from a SAR incident in the North Sea. October 1970 was the date and we were working from Ark Royal at the time.
Thanks to John Eacott for hosting - maybe he or someone else can show me how to automate the display of these phots. Thanks to Heliport for fixing the problem for me.
Click on the button and a drop-down box will appear.
Insert the url (web address) of the pictures.
Click OK and your pic will display.
Repeat as necessary.

A few from the building hopping adventures, (boring stuff)
All taken in Mexico City.
If anybody is thinking about operating one of this machines at altititude be aware that the new tail rotor is definately lacking authority at altitude, LTE will be a problem for you, the old metal rotor is much more effective at producing antitorque force, I would really like to see Agusta do something about this.
Agusta is a nice helicopter to get you where you are going fast and in a straight line, but always prefer straping a 407 on my back, that is entretainment!!
I always have my camera with me, hence the pictures, the one of the helicopter taking off is the only one I didn't take, I asked a friend to take it with my camera

That last picture, damn makes me feel uncofortable just seeing it, the front of the rotor disk a few inches off the rocks, I don't know I am probably too chicken to do that.
I won't even go into "what if" the engine fails, I think we all spend a lot of time in places where if the engine failed there would be little left to do, but the disk clearance . . . . .

The angles look OK, the trees are vertical. The Longranger has one of the longest rotors which would make it even more difficult. Much Rather be in a Hughes 500.
