Clavileño

very impressive, from what distance do your agents shoot at the engine. It looks rather dangerous to be so close if they returned fire, especially with a shotgun.

Overview of Le Castellet Race track

Clear day in Gap (at 10.000ft). Notice the black cloud at the horizon, I think the Swiss were practicing flak...

Ah a lovely place, have spent a few nights camped out alongside the mistral straight for the Bol d'Or. Great memories.

Great pics Delta 3 - I too spent many years watching the racing at Circuit Paul Ricard (now owned by one B Ecclestone I gather).

Happy Days!

A Day with the Santa Ana Police Orange County CA.

The Santa Ana Police Dept. patrols the cities of Santa Ana, Newport Beach and Costa Mesa using three EC120 Colibri's designated Eagle 1, 2 & 3.

Heliport mentioned a while back we should post pictures taken from our machines, so here goes my first one.

That quote is from Blender Pilot, in his first post on this, the most successful thread on PPRuNe. Its intent and purpose has always been personal photos: not random selections from the internet

Senior Pilot

I posted this reminder only a few weeks ago. We can all trawl the internet for photos these days, but what has made this thread unique is that the pictures here are all taken by Rotorheads in their day jobs

Please enjoy the thread, and contribute with your photos taken from around the world. If you have problems with hosting then there is plenty of advice already available: or just ask

Night shots around Boston

I did a project in 2008 to do some night photography from the helicopter. I tried film and by the time I pushed the film fast enough to get rid of any rotor shake, the grain was like basketballs. Likewise my first digital SLR was simply not fast enough. I got one of the earlier Nikon D3s and shot these pictures. You can see all of them, and at larger sizes, here:

Zenfolio | Paul Cantrell | Nighttime Aerial Boston

but I'm putting a few of them directly here...

Christian Science Church Boston:

Prudential Center Plaza:

State Street Bank:

This is looking back at Ft. Point Channel - Logan airport is directly behind us:

People skating on the Frog Pond:

and the Zakim Cable Stay bridge (everybody seems to like this shot

Hynes Convention Center in Back Bay:

The famous Citgo sign in Back Bay, which coincidentally is where I studied photography (New England School of Photography).

And finally the R44 we shot this from (and believe me it was cold shooting with the door off) - it was about -4C (24F) that night! I couldn't use my gloves while shooting so the wind chill was really bad.

Sorry it's more scenery than helicopters - I'll have to do a night air-to-air shoot sometime!

Paul
