Pack it in guys.
I agree I do not know what you are trying to achieve Pongo whatever guise your in at the monent? But labouring your point is getting pretty boring...Yawn.....
I will ask you one question...what is your connection with Global Eagle? just curious as I wonder if your one of the intrepid ground crew......would explain the shooting off at the lip like a wounded animal?
So please lets keep this on track and find the answers not all this SS baiting.

No, nothing to do with Global Eagle. And have, will and do use only one username. On both sites.......I have no idea what bizarre point SS is trying to make? Ops normal there then....

But I will say I'm thredders with the individuals who seem to take great pleasure in attacking the efforts of those involved in getting a very difficult exped together.

SS has highlighted the maturity of his mindset (and that of some others) and his will to unreasonably denegrate not just Global Eagle but an individual who has attempted something that none of us will do.

That, Gentlemen, is the point. I have no idea for the reasons some of you feel the need to personally attack the man who put this together so consistently........and I don't really care as the end result is the same.

As someone once said..........if you can't say anything nice.....don't say anything at all

Sid,

Any indication in the local press up your way as to how much was raised for charity which was what GE was all about. Or did I misunderstand the primary purpose of the flight ?

Regards,

E5

Strangely enough Echo, I can find nothing of any sums of donation. This sort of thing wasn't even on the GE website before it shut down.

I for one would have thought that it would be good for the Global Eagle cause to let it be known how much was made for the different charities.

Anyone else any figures available?

rp finally admits to being same person on both sites.
p.s. FYI rp, ignore lists do not exclude pms! (nice try).

This post is in no way to be considered an attack on autorot8 or his carer, just asking how much went to charity!

Charity

The funny thing is that just because you raise money for charity does not mean that you have to give it to them.
imagine lenny henry using comic relife to buy a new merc!
you guys fail to understand that a new motorbike,cars and a 42"plasma tv are essentials!. have you any idea how much it costs to buy fancy underwear for a fellow pilots wife?. Suggest you try it before jumping in with both feet and assuming that just because he spent the money that he ripped them off(the charities that is!!!).
Instead of saving or going without to pay for a summer holiday why not simply run the london marathon?. You stand to make a bomb and have a great time on holiday and get fit into the bargain! . Everybody will think you are a great guy, even if you only get half way and drop out due to the rain. Nobody needs to know how much you raised, sit back and enjoy,hell, you may even get promoted! Allegedly. None of this is true, nobody would be that stupid

Now that we have established rp as the same one here and on the 18th plural, after much denying and deleting of posts, it seems even stranger that rp seems to think that I believe him to be TA. (Yet another of his Walter Mitty characters.)

I think it went something like, "SS, You're wrong ! So I'm TA now am I, a right Walter Mitty character aren't I ?" (in reference to part time pongo on the 18th pl.)

A few posts ago rp says;
"You got the ARRSE name wrong (there is a 'part time pongo' over there so I assumed you've annoyed him too and got our names mixed up) to which I said I was nothing to do with, which I'm not."

What am I leading up to with this?

On this post Rotary Pongo of the 18th pl. who we have established as the same as the Rotary Pongo on PPRuNe says;
I spent 5 years in the TA as an NCO before, during and after Uni.
Is this just another coincidence? Possibly, but why did he deny his TA past?

The page from 18th pl. is saved if anyone doubts this.

MY POINT;
rp is a charlatan in any of his posts. Has many usernames to hide behind and uses the words of others to induce a flame war. He has no experiences on which to fall back on during any arguments and when all hope is lost in battle deletes/edits all relevant information in his posts.
As I said in my pm to him, "loser".

As someone said in a previous post, SS may be every villages idiot, but I would also say that Rotary Pongo is every Regiments new subaltern!

Heliport, this is my last comment along these lines, about Rotary Pongo

Hoping for a new post, however this'll just have to be a big one;

Nothing about a Merc , but apparently this TVR used to be Lennys;

http://www.wreckedexotics.com/tvr/tvr_122302_003.shtml

Don't know what this site is about, but apparently
Just for reference those of you in Reading, Dawn drives a metallic green TVR Griffith and she isnt gentle about it either, so if you see it hairing up behind you get out out of the wayl
Nice reply later in the thread;

"Dawn French drives a TVR? How does that fat dollop get in it? My mates got a Chimaera and I have trouble getting in it (I\'m not a fatty, by the way). You sort of have to fall in coz it's so low!"

You and your mates are on very thin ice suggesting misappropriation of funds, defrauding charities etc......
I don't think you'll find that SS has suggested that at all.

Now that the 600 posts and 30,000 views has been reached, nay exceeded, and I realise this thread will not get a 5 star rating, all that I ask for is;

1. Some genuine pictures of the aircrafts condition.
2. Some figures as to the donations to charity that GE produced.

Are you saying that some of the posts here have been made up!!
Even the photos!!!
Good heavens above!

Gentlemen

You are on very thin ice suggesting misappropriation of funds, defrauding charities etc......

I assume you can think in depth enough to consider these things through.

If you have any real evidence, rather than hiding behind the internet, then present it to the Police. If not get off these means.

Your career might be over......this man's is not.

SS

You had no knowledge of my past when you mis-identified me in your post (which you quickly changed, and then must have spent a long time going through ARRSE for a 2003 post.)

You know perfectly well that my username here and on ARRSE is the same and has never been Part time Pongo. He's an entirely different chap as a search on ARRSE (as you're so adept at doing) would quickly show......stop misrepresenting yourself (I stop just short of calling you a liar).

I'm sure though you'll make up whatever you want........to suit whatever aim you feel you have.

Steady on there.....

Some tough words from rotary pongo!. Perhaps we need to clear the issue a little. What would you like to call it when you empty the money out of sealed charity collection pots that are clearly labeled and sealed in the name of a charity, with no mention of globaleagle on them? Charity would be a good name if the monies went to the destination that the donors were lead to belive, but when it goes into your own personal bank account and pocket to pay for bar lunches, fuel and such, what would you like it to be called?. One would simply have to produce account credits for the seperate charity account to quash this dead, you know, with dates and amounts.
call it what you will but to quote" if it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck and flys like a duck, then it is a duck!"

I agree, if there is a case to answer (that is not pre-judged and in an un-accountable forum (such as this), relying on hearsay and possible personal conflicts) then it should be answered.

I must say I for one am not convinced in any way there is any impropriety..........but again I have no direct involvement with Global Eagle.

But, if there is evidence of apparent wrong doing, and even then it may have a totally innocent explanation, then it should be looked into by those tasked to do so.

One would simply have to produce account credits for the seperate charity account to quash this dead, you know, with dates and amounts.
Couldn't agree more, but the internet is certainly not the place to do so. If there is any evidence it should be presented to a body capable of doing an effective investigation such as the civilian Police or the RMP.

If there is not and this is merely a personal vendetta of some sort, gents you are on sticky ground indeed.

As I've said it before, I have much admiration for those who undertake tasks such as Global Eagle only to see many attempt to shoot them down.

Sometimes, what I perceive to be a Swan may have been your duck. It would certainly not be the first time I am wrong about something.........

But, gents, are you sure about this??

I think it was back on page 35 when Autorot8 said;
What is it with you people? You weren't happy with trying to ruin all the good work we did during this expedition you even tried to ruin my career! Thanks to one of the main people on this thread, my CO was forced to instruct an SIB investigation into the cash flow of Global Eagle. You people have no idea how serious a charge that is, you have nearly ruied my life, what the hell do you want from me?!? I tried to pull off something that has never been done before and failed, if you think you could do better, you go and give it a go. As for the 'Investigation' I gave the SIB permission to look at my private accounts, the GE accounts and anything else they wanted to look at and after all of that I am in possesion of a letter, signed by my CO stating that there was found to be NO case to answer. There never was.
Having said just about what we wanted to here on ths thread, mostly in jest I hasten to add, I think some of the things said here now need to be verified or left alone.
If the words above from Autorot8 are true, then that side of things has been dealt with and need not be challenged unless it can be proven. By the way, these are very serious accusations going on and IMHO are going too far off the track of this thread.

Forget the money side of things, unless individuals would like to start their own thread about it, but will someone please post a picture of G-IROW in its 'post India un-airworthy state'.
(a genuine one would be nice )

Devil

Rp,

You are talking out of your arse about things you have NO knowledge about .......

Let's just say someone jumped the gun a little to soon to get the evidence required. I am sure there are people watching this site, sitting and waiting .......

Those concerned know what has happened. Those who are investigating need to start asking the right questions to the right people !!!

G

just ask.....

RP, have read your post and considered its content for some time. I think you, like all of us, thought or think that it was what it was pretending to be. You have stood by when people have thrown muck and shielded from the blows. For this reason you deserve the truth. Ask him to show you the dated seperate account book, the pictures of the drowned machine, why did it not have its permit to fly renewed, why seek sponsorship long after it was all over. RP, for your loyalty you deserve the answers, truthful answers. It is hard when you stand by a duck thinking it is a swan and everybody but you can see the truth. 10/10 for playing the party line.

have you seen the film"Afew good men" with Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson?.
The part when crise asks to be told the truth and the reply is "You want the truth?, You cant handle the truth!"

Gobbie,

" I am sure there are people watching this site, sitting and waiting ......."

Bloody right mate and as long as there are people like us and ML and Volrider and SS this thread will keep coming to the top of the board until questions are answered.

This thread is not going to fade away.

"It's better to burn out than fade away."
and I think there seems to be a lot of fuel left!

Why doesn't anyone seem to want to post a pic or 2 of the post India G-IROW
According to the CAA , the C of A Expiry was 07/07/2004.

Back to page 14;
26 June: Announcement that the exped will be delayed due to the monsoon.

01 September, (AAC birthday!): Announcement that GE will fly to Sydney.

What happened after that is purely conjecture on my behalf;

How about this?

1. GE stops due to bad weather.
2. Due to time allowed by bosses, GE is restricted in its 'window', so alternative plan to go to Sydney is hatched.
3. At some point at XD, during the wait for the monsoon to pass, 'someone' notices that the C of A has expired.
4. The problem of C of A ing a UK registered a/c in E. India is realised.
5. The only way to cover up this monumental admin error, is to return to India and find the a/c unrepairable.

It seems to me, without any small print at the end of this post, that GE has turned into quite a cover-up.

Now, if the C of A was in fact renewed, I will, on production of some real post India pics of G-IROW finish!

Your not suggesting that the top brass were covering up are you! Whatever next, let me think.....There was a cover up on the Paris tunnel crash...there was a cover up on the British Soldiers in Iraq so called torture treatment of innocent Iraqi's...
next you will suggest Wayne Rooney and Shrek are one and the same!
The bosses are responsible for all this

Perhaps the top brass were unaware of the C o A expiry.

How else could one save face in these circumstances?

No renewal of C o A was/is applied for, according to the G-INFO site. The wording of which is normally, renewal in progress.

Of course this is purely conjecture on my behalf to encourage discussion.

I see that the number of "views" to this thread keeps increasing ( 34,189 to date ) but still with no information forthcoming from those in the know at "GEHQ".

Is it just me - am I being far too naive to EXPECT that one day the answers will be provided ( i.e. Where'd the charity cash go ?, What REALLY happened to the project ? etc. etc. )

Every time I see a new reply I go take a look hoping to find the answers - The almost inevitable disappointment is only compensated for by the wit and repartee of Sid, together with Vol 's pic's - keep up the good work guys - 34,190 now !

Could be worse I suppose - at least the ground support crews weren't using MG Rovers ! ( were they ? )
