Fair point, I have always been the main bread winner so to speak so my wife works PT around my shifts to accommodate childcare, obviously I am aware of the financial implications of joining this program but to say we'd be earning 150k a year within 6 years seems quite ambitious considering the 7 year bond etc. I haven't seen anyone post pay scales so if you have those to hand I'd be very keen to see them.
I wasn't intending my last post ti read that I had a sense of entitlement to benefits, it was merely to highlight that I have never claimed any benefits so have no idea of the process/application

I thought the bond was 6 years, but could also be 7. But in the current climate and the cliff edge of retirements coming up you can probably find yourself bidding for a short haul command not long after the bond time is up.
I'm not sure how the Cadet salaries will vary across Mainline / Euroflyer / Cityflyer and I don't believe they've been posted anywhere as its going to be at least a year before the first cadets from the last intake even start getting paid. I'd use the FPP scale here as a guide. https://www.pilotjobsnetwork.com/job...rways_Mainline
Euroflyer on the normal payscales definitely sits on the lower end. Road to command is faster at Cityflyer but you're not on the MSL and it's pretty much the whole recruitment process again to get to Mainline/EF. It's still a long way to go till we're at that stage, but I'd be considering my age and how many flying years I'll have before retirement. I'm probably pushing it for Long Haul command before I retire.
I'm in a similar position where my salary is significantly higher than my other half, who will be going back to work PT after maternity (yes I'm mad applying for this now). After failing out last year I started penny pinching and saving incase this came round again to have a buffer to fall back on or use it to fund modular. I don't know what your ability to squirrel money aside is like, but first intake wouldn't be until January, starting with 10 per intake/month it may be October 2025 before you start (if the planets all align and we get through the process) so you potentially have 16 months from now to build a nest egg to support your family. If funds started to get low then I would be considering the 0% credit card route with a cash advance as a buffer fall back on as VariablePitch recommended.

Yeah mine hasn’t changed either. As a 17-year-old applicant (will be 18 in time) I wasn’t even anticipating getting this far so it’s been good to learn what the process is like and getting a bit more faith in myself having been rejected by the TUI assessments.

I worked as cabin crew for Ryanair back in 07 and remember one day working with a 19 year old FO...it didn't feel right 😅 I was 21 myself.

Thanks for the supportive words, this community has been so helpful throughout the whole process!
Wow, 19 in the right hand seat! I imagine they'd have gone modular, done PPL and hours whilst still in school? Either that or a very quick hire out of an integrated course…

I'm also 17, and my issue is that I start a degree apprenticeship at the beginning of August (which requires me to move out), so I really do need to know as soon as possible in order to cancel my contract with them (if I do get in!!). Anyone know roughly when we'll hear back?

A bit of common sense has to be applied as an assessment centre can't happen w/c 20th May if the notifications haven't been sent out until the 22nd May. Everything will move to the right 1 to 2 weeks (which is what the 20 minute video took to say) - if there are delays in getting notifications from the Flight School assessments, then naturally the BA assessments will also move to the right - if that is delayed, and BA delay announcing the final results then we could go into September!
A bit of a domino effect

No probs. Can be considerably cheaper, folks on this forum have managed circa 50k I believe. Although that is without type rating. There's a lot of info on some threads on this site as well.

There’s some threads on here that go into further detail. Last I checked there are 100s of flight schools in the UK that offer this modular route (more strict requirements to offer an integrated route, so not as many places do that).
AFAIK it can be up to 50% cheaper doing the modular route (maybe more maybe less)…it depends on the school and how modern the equipment is as this increases the cost of renting planes for hour building.

Emails are out, congratulations to all of those who made it onto the next stage!
Unfortunately didn't make it though this time, but will be applying the next go around with many others I'm sure. I'll be checking the thread to see how you all get on!
Good luck!!

Possibly rejection emails only then? I did not see a change to my application with regards to the assigned flight school, so maybe a good sign if you haven't received anything but see the change on your application?
