Mine has changed recently too, I had no preference and has been updated to Skyborne. Interesting to see as I also have not had an email. I did apply last year and managed to get offered SSP but not the full scholarship, I wonder if anything will be different this time around...

You were asked this at the application right at the beginning of the process

Would really appreciate input from anybody who may have undertaken the CUT-E tests with Skyborne last year, do you remember which tests you sat so I can focus on them rather than the entire suite of CUT-E assessments.

Many thanks and best of luck to all still in the competition.

I only noticed at 8am this morning, so I'm assuming sometime yesterday or it would have been really early this morning

Mine has also changed......! Might just be tagging the different groups (Jerez/Skyborne) as they can then decide how many are taken of the groups to the next stage for each flight school. Not reading too much into it.

PA on the 1st May. Surname O. Application showing Skyborne now.

Although, I'm not holding my breath until the confirmation emails next week. And as others have said, don't be disheartened if it hasnt changed yet. They're probably still reviewing applications, and it may not even be alphabetical.

I think they could split into 3 buckets
  1. definite yes - highest scoring - change status (but keep an eye out for how many as there are obvious limits to each flight school and not to go over the total number of cadets)
  2. just outside of the criteria - don't change the status but keep the list ready
  3. just meet the criteria - don't change the status but keep the list ready
We know some rejection emails have already gone out so it's not unreasonable to think they're all the definite no - so on that basis, we know we've got a chance and we'll fall into one of the 3 buckets

So then if they have 100 1's (which is how many cadets they're looking to recruit), then they're good to email everyone
If they don't have 100 1's, they can top up from bucket 3
But If they have more than 100 1's, then even though they have changed the status, they'll still need to review bucket 1 and short list the short list further down to 100

We could get one of 3 emails; 1 - congrats, you're in. 2 - you just met the criteria but others were slighter stronger and you're on a standby list, if anyone pulls out we'll let you know (TUI did this). And 3 - sorry, you was really close but was just short of the criteria. Thanks for trying and have another go time

As others have said, don't look into it too much, which I'm doing the opposite and over thinking it, but as humans, we need closure and we need to assume and generalise which I've gone OTT with it.

I know, I can't help it but it's good fun thinking about

Last year there was no standby list. About 800 people got through to the next stage. Just for info.

I don’t think they’re too concerned with cutting numbers to 100 until it gets to the final interview stage

Is that 800 to the flight school assessments? Roughly 400 for each
Then they filter down to 50 - 60 each who then go to BA for the final interview/assessment
