Boy entrant incorrect!
There was no mayday call whatsoever with G-LFSJ, i was flying the a/c and did not make that call at all, i don't know where you have got that information from but the plane was completely fine, the airspeed indicator went dead passing through 500ft. I made the decision to do a circuit and land, your information is totally incorrect as there was no such call with a mayday, just a simple call saying the airspeed indicator has gone dead and request to stay in the circuit and land.

I presume it's flown since with a 'U/S' sticker over the ASI signed off by RM?!?!?!

Well, Flyct, it sounds to me that you made the right decision; always better to be down here wishing you were up there than up there wishing you were down here.
I've been following this thread for the past six months or so without making any comment, but I get the distinct impression that Air Force None and Boy Entrant are pursuing their own agenda, and making less than objective posts!

I think some of us are forgetting a basic rule on here.
Never let facts get in the way of a good rumour
I can't think of many places where bitter rivalry and feuds between competing schools/clubs break out on a regular basis. Plus ca change....

Talking of hangar 8, anybody remember Craig Seville?! He's got his likely release / eligibility date coming up this year - 24/10/2014

Lets hope he has hated every single second of prison life & continues to do so until his release, whenever that may be. October 2014 is far too soon if it happens.

Well one of CS's former colleagues who I had lots of unsatisfactory dealings with with regards to a former CS lead enterprise has been on this thread saying that he is setting up shop. So it would not surprise me if CS makes an appearance at BPL once he's released.

G-BAKH currently has a CofA/Permit status as 'suspended'. Lucky you didn't prang G-LFSJ, did you check the insurance details? That's if it ever was insured....have you done any research on the G-ATTR incident? Have you looked at the accident report on BBEF? Missing paperwork abounds.
Isn't RM due to face criminal charges for falsifying aircraft paperwork? Ironic if he gets locked up with Seville....

boy entrant the pilot has no control about what response the ATCO orders up once they say there is a problem.
Some will do nothing, some will put a local standby on, and others will go for local call out, and others will go for the full monty with outside local emergency response.
The fire station listen in to the tower as well and even if the ATCO doesn't want the full blues and two monty the Head fireman may want to use it as an excuse for getting everyone out for training.
On the work machine I have had to descend down to 10 000 because of a pressurisation problem. Once down there we were happy for another hour of cruise. We also got met by the full works including incident van.
Most ATCO's don't have much of a clue these days about the different systems on board and work on the principle of better safe than sorry if there is any hint of something wrong.
The only way you can guarantee that you won't be met by the fire service if returning with a problem is by not telling the tower that anything is wrong. And making up some excuse about needing to come back eg I have the keys for another aircraft in my pocket.

In all fairness, when the ATCO realised the aircraft belonged to RM, his natural reaction was to hit the crash button, What with the previous form of said operator, I can't say I blame him.

We had a visit from a small person in our Clubhouse last night claiming to be the pilot unfortunately we could not understand all of his rantings because of his squeeky voice,he said that someone on pprune had called him a "P---k"

G-ATTR?
I don't quite understand what you're getting at, Mr Observer. Or maybe you aren't quite as observant as you pretend to be.
A visit to G-INFO elucidated the information that the aircraft you refer to, G-ATTR is a BOLKOW BO 208C JUNIOR , owned by a gentleman in Essex since 1977. He may not be very pleased to see that you are casting aspersions on what is probably his pride and joy.
If you're going to sling mud it may be as well to get the facts right (and spell correctly).
