MUNT - You are correct..

Lear 55 over NYC.. Flying VFR 16500 from Nantucket, back to home base

And Bill, close! The 28/31/55 all have the same (longhorn) wing

Bill Lear 15th Apr 2007 21:05

heywatchthis,

I dont mean to question you at all, but if its was a 55, where is the pillar at the rear of the windshield(ala Lear 60). I'm just anoyed if I got it wrong!
Cheers.
Bill Lear.

heywatchthis 15th Apr 2007 22:06

Bill, If you look carefully, you can see the hinges there for the back window. The piccy was taken from the rear window, pillar not in sight.. But I can assure you it is there...
Opening that little window use to be great in summer to cool the cockpit down, however this a/c has had it siliconed shut! buggers!!
And to answer your question, this is one of my regular rides, we have 3 55's and 4 35's.
Here are a couple more..
Quiet up here!

heywatchthis,

thanks mate. Cool job you have there. I never knew you could open that little side window. Learn something new everyday. Got any more Lear pics? Keep em coming.
Regards
Bill.

It looks suspicously like a Reims F406 Caravan II...

But it could be an early model...

It definitely smells like a Cessna of sorts...

Having never been in anything bigger than a 208, it's the best I can do.

podbreak 19th Apr 2007 14:35

Jamair,

Citation 550 (II)

Jamair 19th Apr 2007 14:55

Well it IS a Cessna....still waiting:}

Hempy 19th Apr 2007 16:34

Citation V?

Capt Fathom 19th Apr 2007 18:07

More like a Citation 500/501.
New avionics stack, but a 70's panel and Bendix A/P FCS.

tinpis 20th Apr 2007 05:46

Thats a citation I, whats with the stack though?
Erm....8 track? :hmm:

Jamair 20th Apr 2007 09:50

Fathom - well spotted, 'tis indeed a 500:ok: . If you like the stack, you should see the orange velour seats and the shag pile headliner....not to mention the fluffy dice on the mirror and twin overhead foxtails on the Commant:hmm:

As they say, there is only so much silk purse you can make out of a sows ear....and a 30 year old aeroplane will never be new, irregardless how many pennies are splurged thereon. Still, the stack is nice....:p
