There have been some suggestions on here that QF has gone back to the dreaded hold file –can anyone out there substantiate these claims with FACT???? Or once again is this just your typical rumour BULL that is constantly posted on here from people who don’t have a ING clue.
As you said, it's only been suggestions that it may have gone back something like a hold file because it's definitely a fact that they're currently grading people in competitiveness in a similar way that they used to with the dreaded hold file - the only difference is that they do hold some regard for your LOI dates. I know this because I was told directly by DL and MH in two separate phone calls. Judging by that fact and the fact that people still have LOI's, one can only suggest that it's some sort of hybrid between the two recruitment approaches previously utilised.
When I rang QF a month or so ago for an update, they mentioned that they were/are giving positions to those with 'expired' or near expired LOIs. At the time and still now - I am within my LOI period so she implies that they would all get pushed back.
I am hoping that given that some of us actually have a timeframe on our letter, they would try (dare I say it, be obligated) to honour that within their capabilities.
The big question would be to those who have just passed all the stages as to whether they are still givin out LOIs with timeframes?

Like I said, sure it's just 380 & 744 for the Jan course (you find out on the day).....no 330. Which makes sense considering the recent announcement to kybosh the pending 2 x Q 330-200 leases.
As to actual numbers on each course......they're real secret squirrel numbers to try and get hold of.

I was lead to beleive that these 2 330's were going to be sent to J* anyhow? Not mainline...

Me too.
Back in the waiting game. The phrase "start looking for other things" was used too. Pitty I've turned down several other interviews since doing my QF interview. Burned my bridges and now left with nothing...

So Long JS have you been sitting on a LOI??? and if so from when??? I have a feeling that 'waiting in line' means that you've never received a LOI in the first place, correct me if im wrong. Burning bridges in aviation (eventhough sometimes you feel like it) is not a very smart thing to do.

A330 training forecast has lowered this year due to QF not getting back any aircraft from Jetstar. The Jetstar 330s are supposed to return to QF when the 787 turns up - when that happens is`anyones guess!
