Cool

Gidday radaz.

Hope you're well.

I was actually daring you to comment on the status of the REX cadet program, as you have so energetically supported it with facts and figures in the past. As you can probably read for yourself, I am not the only one that has serious reservations about the progress (or lack of it) of this scheme. The offer to comment is still open if you're game.

You are right about one thing however, I do swear blue that I don't want to see REX fail. Your accusation of me being less than truthful in that regard simply reinforces to me that you do not have a handle on this situation, and you obviously do not know me personally.

If you want some advice, try to be a little more carefull with the job offers as well (disregard of course if you were only throwing a bait). I certainly wouldn't make overtures to someone whom I had doubts about loyalty and honesty!

Finally, for the record. I believe in REX but I am absolutely livid at the damage that is being done to a company that had/has such potential. I, like many others before me will more than likely jump ship when the time arrives (probably sooner than later and with a fair measure of regret).

Untill then however I will continue to comment on what I believe to be the true facts of this whole fiasco. And as always, with a smile on my face!

Flying Goose more like it

Can't understand why you and your bumbuddy (Krumpy 3) carry on about REX, regardless if you work there or not.
You do not own or run the operation, you only work there.
They don't owe you the job.
You own your experience and qualifications, not the farking job.....duuuurrr.
They don't give a fark about you.
Should they....?...No
If you think they should then you belong in a different time.
The big world of flying big machines has changed in a big way in the last few years. (With regard to coming in with your endorsement. )

You are nothing more than a tool. Not something with a an opinion of any worth.
Don't feel hurt.
Just fly your block and shut the fark up......Or go elsewhere....simple.....as indicated by your employer.

Its a cold fact.
So Krusty come out of the closet. You ain't kidding anyone about your loyalty crap. Cause its worthless.

Krusty

Wish you luck but don't hold your breath with the people who own and run REX.
They have an objective which is to make money. ie. Min cost and max profit. They have done it (past). Done it to you.
You have been tricked (believing the mantra).....especially if you have REX shares.
I have only stated the obvious about what they have been doing/trying to achieve.
But even blind Freddy can see that they are in trouble.
So you win....didn't want to say it ..but yes you are right.

Back to my cave....then.
Doh

Thanks radaz.

I think?

Kev9.

Bloody hell!!!

I'll make a deal with you. I'll shut the fark (there's that word again) up, when you have something to contribute. You don't share a closet with radaz do you? Your mindless rants and name calling do you no service at all.

And I've got news for you sport, nearly 14,000 views and over 170 replies on this REX thread alone. Most of them not posted by me, and a majority equally concerned about this fiasco!

Guess I'll be here for a while yet!

Co's just like REX evolved. They started from just a dream, most often from one person. That dream developed, progressed thru expansion & risk.
In order to keep on going in an ever competative expanding world they (REX for Eg) had to make changes, for better of worse. Along came the "in" word of the 80's & 90's "Restructuring" and for airlines that meant making the business that has now grown from just a dream to a full on nightmare at times more efficient there more profitable, enter the one thing that's variable in aviation to achieve that, the HUMAN factor. The result? what we see/hear today, a once great Co. that has withered away to something that most are not proud of.

REX is made up of people, good hard working people think of them as the 'glue', water based glue holding the Co. together, water it down & that glue can no longer do it's job.
I've known a few guys over the years from Rex/Kendalls, all have moved on but still feel as tho once it was a great airline.

I believe that REX will die eventually but not before it's bled dry first & this country will suffer in more ways than one with an ever lasting effect.

The original 'rat pack', Don, Max & John all of NSW had that dream, would have loved to have seen their faces if there was a crystal ball at the time of inception of their Co's to see their reactions & what's become of Regional aviation in Australia these days.

It appears the Cadet school has finally found themselves a CFI. Has their AOC been approved? Have the young'ns started their flight training?

Genuine question.

any news?

Rumour has it Rex management turned their backs on the initial provider of the AOC, who's now sitting on a batch of brand new aeroplanes, among other things. Talk about losing face if this is indeed true??!!

Have they finally been granted their own AOC or found someone willing to support their ambitious, some would say unrealistic, training schedule?

Come on guys and gals, keep the rumours flying

The new batch of Cadets are due to start early this month (If not today). Would be interesting to see how it all goes as the next recruit drive is due around end of May/June.

The Virgin E-Jet effect on REX ops has yet to come in to play yet either.

Maybe REX WILL have enough crew to support a much reduced operation in the future.

All-seeing, omnipotent management usually know the big-picture situation better than pilots.

Rex cadetship hits the fan!

After the ongoing problems over the previous weeks with the training school, cadet program and contract issues, students ask for anwsers from the ever so silent management team.
Last friday the whole board of directors arrived at Mangalore Airport in there business jet unannounced.
After short meeting the board entered the classroom and asked for concerns and questions.
After a number of issues had been raise Mr Rex himself said he did not have to anwser any such questions and if you don't like it you can leave, sorri I mean (P@#$ Off) as he put it.
After Mr Rex dismissed one of the cadets and said pack your bags. The board left the airport leaving everyone shaken and in discuss.
Morale is at an all time low and words can not decribe the cadets feelings at this time!
It is now very clear the reason Regional Express has such a pilot shortage, why would anyone want to have a 7 year agreement with such ugly people.

From your post cadet - are you seriously saying that kim hai told one of the cadets to Pi$$ off and pack his bags because he was concerned about where the course was going?? I find that hard to believe. I know LKH can be a take it or leave it sort of guy but this is hard to swallow...

Well atleast you understand the parameters of your working relationship.

Although i find that sickening, whether you see it or not, you are currently the customer, if the product is not up to your expectations/what was promised you are quite within your rights to address your concerns.

Good luck.

Thumbs down Disgraceful treatment of my grandson(Cadet Pilot) by Rex

My grandson is a cadet at Mangalore with REX.

After being given the job of 'class captain' (for which he was very proud, he saw fit to do what he could to help out his classmates if they had any issues.
For some time now, they have had NO structure to their flying. They may be in the middle of a class, and an instructor would come in and say "You are going flying" no warning, no preparation.

There were apparently so many issues from the class and the previous class, that they the students were becoming so annoyed at the inactivity by people at the flying school, that my grandson e-mailed the boss - Mr Lim Kim Hai.

Days later, the entire board of Directors came to the academy to meet with the students. Mr LKH proceeded to ask them to write all of their issues on the whiteboard so that they could 'talk about them'.

Apparently, once the board was full, he said "If these problems stayed the same, would you still want to be here?"

He then said and I quote "Things won't be changing. We told you you would have your license in 32 weeks. If you don't like it you can off".
He then told my grandson that "I don't like your attitude, so you can leave. You are finished!"

This is disgraceful and NO WAY to treat people. I hope hat others considering applying remove their applications and not work for such a horrible man and his company.

Unbelievable.

Full Flaps, we don't have the full story, only the side you present, however, many of those who have been following REX for some time may not find it hard to believe. From the reports we have read/heard the cadets have indeed had a pretty hard time of it.

adverse, I don't see why it is the wrong forum, leave it here. (Referring to a now deleted post above.)

...I find that sickening...
Me too, I am absolutely amazed by the reports coming out about the board's visit to Mangalore. I have said in other threads, LKH has no idea about Australian labour relations. He will now have zero respect from any of the cadets in that class.

(Adverse <or a mod> keeps deleting his posts.)
