Merged: The REX Cadet Scheme

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has had a reply from emailing the Rex cadet program?. Would have thought you would get any auto reply?

TOJP

P.S Please do not turn this in to good/bad thread about the program!!!

TINTIN25 3rd Oct 2007 03:48

REX emailed me and a number of other applicants around the 26th september and said they are finalising the details of the cadet program and will advise us in about 2 weeks time if we have been sucessful going to the next stage.

Based on that email I would anticipate them sending us another email around the 10th October if they have their act together :)

Hope that helps :ok:

The Original Jetpipe 3rd Oct 2007 05:25

Thanks for that, only sent email a couple of days ago! as there was no closing date decided to make sure my c.v correct before sending it! Guess we will just have to wait and see.

I am correct in guessing the reply email came from Human Resources?

TOJP.

togs737 3rd Oct 2007 05:42

Hey TOJ,

Yep, the email came back from HR.

Did we have to send in a CV?

JUST REX 3rd Oct 2007 05:44

No C.V just an expression of interest at this stage! :ok:

togs737 3rd Oct 2007 05:46

Ah thanks for that, was scared that I missed something!

However, a CV wouldn't hurt at this stage either I wouldn't think. :}

JUST REX 3rd Oct 2007 05:57

A C.V wouldn't hurt but they did say they are asking for expressions of interest. There was no job advertised. All depends on how you prefer to do things. I just sent them a 1 page letter explaining who I am and what I do to keep things simple for them. They will be getting hundreds of applications so it is best to keep things simple and to the point for them to read!

You are such a ****** do you think just because you are friends with Tinker Bell you can ban me. Tintin will be back it does not take much to sign up.

What ever happened to freedom of speach!
Not only an idiot, but a stalker as well.

And a mighty fine speller.

JUST REX 3rd Oct 2007 06:08

Well you have a sterling record on this forum Jet A Night always abusing people with your filthy language.

How long until Tinker bell lets you become a moderator? You seem to always like sucking up to him!

The Original Jetpipe 3rd Oct 2007 06:23

I decided to send a C.V, did not think it would do any harm!! Still waiting on a reply?? Was the email signed by LW from HR.

This is a thread for infomation!!! NOT a %^&**(() match between pruner's!!

TOJP.

JUST REX 3rd Oct 2007 06:25

My email was not signed just said Human Resources REX

The PM 3rd Oct 2007 08:32

I just put in an expresssion of interest and addressed the 2 criteria they asked for, ie HSC and Australian residency status, with a note that full details would be available if actual applications are called for. I got a response in under 2 days.

My experience with adverts like this in other industries from both sides of the fence,is that you address ONLY what is asked. It demonstrates that you can follow instructions. Cover any more than is asked, particularly with irrelevant info, and you run the risk of being further down the list than you would like, or your application placed in the round holding file.

Just my thoughts anyway.

Cheers!

What was their response? Did they ask you to apply formally?

Mr. Hat 3rd Oct 2007 08:39

Hundreds of applications....?..

SMOBY 3rd Oct 2007 08:45

Very good post PM :ok:

Companies like REX recieve hundreds of applications so they want to know the facts fast without having to read too much. They responded to my expression of interest within 3 days so I guess my application was a bit further down the list than PM's

I have actually worked in an unrelated industry where the job was to respond to a generic information email address and it is facinating & daunting looking at the 800 something emails in the inbox. Too much information or waffle is always promptly deleted. There simply is not enough time in the day to read & respond to everything!

I say again .. ;) .. what was their response? Did they ask you to apply formally?

The PM 3rd Oct 2007 09:01

Training Wheels,

No, just the standard "thanks for your interest we will be in contact" type of reply.

Roger .. thanks. Got that one too. :ok:

SMOBY 3rd Oct 2007 09:06

training wheels - They said they will get back to everyone in about 2 weeks. They emailed me in late Sept so it has only been about a week. If we hear back from them I think it will be in the middle of Oct! :)

Just hope they don't lose my email address with all the other applications :{
