Question

JQ is Quaife? I thought he'd retired? JB is Blackburn?

Good point! Forgotten about him. Put him down for 2:1.

Ill put an avocado on JB
Well the avocado would have more personality!

JQ has not resigned as far as I'm aware. In a "purple" job at the moment. Biding his time methinks!

He's a two-star in CDE at the moment - earning his 'purple' stripes. Only trouble with JQ is he's not a political animal so may not say the right things in the interview process, but then again I wouldn't have said that of Shep a few years ago either...

JQ would make alot of sense if Binny is being groomed to follow him - these two are both very well respected within all branches. But then again, that may just be the 77SQN blood pumping through my veins...

JB is Blackburn?
Correct.

What about Greg Evans?
Good point - he's a good Commander and was well respected within the trash haulers world, plus he's done his 'purple' time at Butterworth, so may well be thrown into the mix.

A Human League candidate works for me!

Susanne Sulley for CAF...Much better looking than Shep and probably has more fairy dust!

JQ Retired?

I heard late last year that JQ had in fact thrown in the towell. Supposedly because he was told that he would NOT be CAF.

Anybody heard further?

Let's hope Binny gets up there quickly!

JQ getting out??? Noooooooooooo....

Unfortunately Binny is out of the current rotation - has only been ACAUST for six months and will have at least another year to go at Glenbrook by the time Shep signs off.

Binny should be next after Shep's replacement.

JQ told he's not in the running for CAF?!?!?!
Let's see......pretty smart, capable operator, a personality (well, for a fighter pilot!), young (ish)........well it's quite clear why he would be out of contention for CAF!
Please God, let it not be JB.....

So is the offer of $30K for 12 months service going to keep anyone in?

Maybe 3,6,9,12 months ago but once again too late for a lot of people who may have stayed! In fact 30k would have made a difference for me.
But for those of us who it is too late for, is this an official offer and before tax as well I imagine? And what the requirements?

Pure fact. Received a CAF message this afternoon with Shep's melon on it espousing the wonders of a 12 month $30K Bonus. No mention of any details beyond that apart from the fact that it is offered to QFIs, OFIs and Check Captains as an interim measure until they come up with some better plan. As most are aware in the game, great news for those intending to stay because they are rewarded with a ~$18K bonus (one assumes it is taxed as it doesn't elaborate) but it will do little to keep anyone from resigning. I understand the wheels of beuracracy move slowly but is this the best the head shed can come up with since they realised that there might be a looming pilot shortage? or has it just taken this long for someone to convince shep that there really is an issue here and he can't just stick his head in the sand and outwardly say there isn't?

OZBorn,

Haven't seen a "CAF Message" at work. Can you elaborate? Web link? Anyone else seen this?

Victor

Yep, I've seen it, shiny bonce and all - OzBorn speaks the truth. It went to commanders so it depends if yours decided to share the info.
