Where is that book extract from please?
It's not a book extract, but an after action interview of the people concerned by a gentleman whose task was to assess battle damage to aircraft. One of the crew (gunner) who died in the crash was an Australian Navy sailor.

G'day ABX, you wouldn't think there was going to be any sunshine at 0700local. Sky cleared to a bit worse than sct by 1030 and when these photoes taken it was blowing about 15+xwind and isol cu. it started coming back in late aftn. Good show, considering xw kept nearly all the tailies on the ground and the rain at TEM kept the Sabre and Boston grounded. Judie's P40 copped a flat tail wheel then the xw picked up a bit too much.

Yeah, thought you must have been out flying Jaba, given the near cyclonic conditions down in that part of the world!

I was thinking the same Dr. until I looked through the archives and found the same phenomenon some 3 years ago!

Not as noticeable on the other wing....

Does she fly in circles Jaba and did Jaba Jnr do the riveting on that one?

Looks like I missed question time about female pilots vs. male pilots just in time to get back to the interesting stuff! Here's a few from recent times...

Great shots

The first minute or so is corporate dull - but the rest well worth a look.

Exceptional video that.

First of type certainly looks like a lot of work. I assume the train is of the very fast type.

Best bits, the impressive climb rate and it actually sounds like a fixed wing as it flies past!

Jamair, I think you need your time down in the south flying between YBCV and YBBN in daylight hours so you can study up.

Chimbu Warrior seems to have it right Chocky frog to him.....or perhaps a Coopers Pale Ale, as I don't have any frogs in the fridge.

Coopers Pale Ale
Give him a Coopers Pale Ale, the only Australian owned brewery now. Or Coopers Dark Ale, a bloody fine beer
