Well if it was one of us...It must have been Beachie....I do not think we get Macca here in BNE, and I doubt Beachie is a likely candidate for calling in, but you never know!

It most certainly were not me!!
The only Maccas I know lives under a couple of golden arches.
I used to listen to the ABC on a Sunday arvo, but there is too much Sax and Violins on there now. Too rough for me.

Well, then there is someone else hiding out there who spoke to Macca... Said individual was a pilot and ringing from the States talking about how they had been over to Oshkosh and visiting a few aviation museums afterward. Spent some time chatting about the old Spruce Goose etc.

Yeah, I can imagine. I'm sure there were lots of people over there who fit the Macca phone call description! Well, it was worth a try at trying to expose someone's few minutes of fame with Macca...!

Tiger, That would be a hoot!
Getting it to happen is another problem.
F111's up the beach at M0,99.....or if you are in the glass business hoping for a bit more!

Not exactly in the class of an F111 but significant, I think, none the less.
Taken at an Air show in Napier some years back the Monospar was owned by NZ Aeriel Mapping and was flown by the owner Pete Van Ash on these Air show demo's.
Unfortunately it was destroyed in a hangar fire, I think it was the last one flying in the world at the time.
Photo is old as you can tell but!!!!!!!

Well it must be time for some more. Last batch was from Oshkosh, and for those of you who have never been to the Smithsonian's in Washington DC, I can tell you it takes a while to get your head around it all. And thats just the air and space museums. There are countless others for arts history etc etc.
So here we go with the Steven F Udvar-Hazy Center at Washington Dulles Airport!
Should be a few HP in there!
already a museum piece!
Some historical value in this one!
Horrible colour to paint ya Pratt...
ohhhh yes and one for the Dr to keep him happy
And another Forktailed thingy........and no engine!

Grunau Baby
Shadow, the LZ-NC looks like a Schneider Grunau Baby to me. There are still several examples of this type flying throughout Australia. I think your right re. the Zephyrus and it being a one-off design.

I did not see him..........but that could explain the "encounter" on the way back to YCAB.
We just figured it was one of our regular CX guys who picked up a hot chick with big thronomeisters and was showing off
I can say that the prior minute or so of the stang ....down in the weeds....followed by the "gooday how ya goin" was VERY well executed....more so than one suspects the regular guys like Ed would do. So you may be onto something there.
Will sus it out tomorrow ....Just for you! ...........post red bull he needs to keep his eye in......and he was

On the way there..
Some like their Country music, - Gympie Muster at 0845 am..
(Heard later that the daughter had had a cold night)
But I prefer Mustang Song,
or Classical music..
