Where, on saturday morning?
Too easy Doc...Ambo Station ...Near Muttaburra....did I hear you under-shooting?........what happened to FTDK sops....stabilized approaches?, etc... why didn't you use the cross strip, and fly around the cattle crate on final?.........would have saved you all that taxiing!!!!!!!!!

Here is a dark-night, black-hole remote area arrival on a bush strip lit with kero flares.....
Those first lights are not the strip - they are car headlights.

Thanks folks.......... And yes the pitot cover was on, we were cleaning/bedding brakes and making sure it behaved in a open space.
Yes it was RUT and the Critters input was invaluable! WE DID BUILD this one, unlike a number who just never will and need him to make it happen. There is nobody better around to keep your project professional if you are building an RV.

Jamair- I have no idea where that is, but what an amazing video! thanks for posting.. lookslike the doco you used to see on navy pilots doing night traps on aircraft carriers

I know three RV-10 owners and all of them will easily do at least 175kts at 75% power.
One has an 0540 the other two IO540's and all make 260HP or maybe a bit moreJabba, be interested to know the figures when you get the spats on...

Don't know the Critter and I will bow to his experience, I haven't built any! I have flown in two RV-10's whilst I have been here in the States and both TAS'd at over 175 but the owners both said they plan on 175. The third (that I am only taking the owners word for) TAS's at over 180 and I am inclined to believe him as it only had a basic VFR panel and is very light.
I have also spoken with the owner of this one:
and he said he also plans on 175. He has a very nice full glass IFR panel (sorry don't have any photos of the panel in this one.)
Anyway I guess we will see what Jabas does Out of curiosity what do you plan on in the FTDK?

Bwahahahahaha,
I reckon the Doc is reading knots when he should be reading MPH! A V35 that does 180kts should be in the Guinness Book of World Records!

My experience with the v tail Bonanza's is one of a safe, solid, overbuilt, comfortable, clean and fast aircraft. I would not discount the claims being made here about their performance. I have flown both the models below and have a high regard for them.
Reference V35B Owners Manual incl supplements 1972:
8,000ft, 2700 RPM 206 MPH or 178Kts.
Reference V35TC Owners manual incl supplements 1972:
10,000ft, 2500 RPM (75% power), 208 MPH or 180.54 Kts.
Just for interest;
V35TC, 24,000ft 2500 RPM 230 MPH or 199.64 Kts.
The above is at full gross weight, so if "racing trim" excludes excess weight, and the aircraft is not tired, I would expect better performance than this. I have both books at hand if anyone needs more figures.
