OK, the truths out!
Yes, I had to slum it in Bro's Mooney 205.
Doesn't climb like the V35B - but 4 up, 245 L gas, 2500/25", 162 kts TAS, and get this - 38 L (that's THIRTY-EIGHT) litres/hr.
Not bad on 200 ponies.

PS: Ditto to what CC says above. A great day!

Well I'll be buggered. Forkie I have met you ay Townsville, we watched a large Russian transport taxi out and takeoff one afternoon from the GA ramp. Would have been a couple of years ago now, but I distinctly remember you... I was doing a twin rating at Bluewater in the Partial Aviator at the time...
Cheers

yep, it was CFK, and i was quie surprised to see quite Mooneys there as well, at least 4. most i have ever seen at one place at the same time. very nice aircraft those Mooneys.
OK Ultralights, here's a bit of history for ya!
On 16 January 1977, I did a check ride in VH-CFK at YBAF with one Barry Hempell who was working at Gill Layt's Flying School at the time. It was my first Bonanza ride (as PIC) but not my first retractable, having done an M20 endorsement in early 1976.
On 30/31 January I flew it to Great Keppel Is and back!
