More on the incursion into Russia. but if you read on, doubts over if its legit

The Monocrystal plant in Shebekino has been targeted. The plant provides specialist LED, solar power and electronics solutions to the Russian military. Military fuel tankers were at the plant when it was attacked.

Probably the damaged patriot battery mentioned earlier last month, boy did they fire some missiles off.

Is this a new claim or is it a re-hash of one of their past claims of sinking the Olefirenko?

Incursions into Russian territories are not an attempt to permanently conquer swathes of land. It is about wreaking havoc and demonstrating to Russians that regime is not able to prevent such raids. Details are not important, small elite units can penetrate deep because border is not guarded well and Russian forces are overstretched. Entrenched and nervous units waiting for an offensive in the south are missed in the north for a moment. If raids will continue Russian MoD must send reinforcements to the north and that is exactly what Ukraine needs beside the fact that Kremlin is losing face in front of own citizens.

The more I study the history of Ukraine the more I see how cossacks culture is deeply rooted into Ukrainian soul. The very basic trait of cossacks is love for freedom and independence hence the difference between Russian inability to oppose regime compared to success at Maidan. Whole war is about independence because Putin perceived freedom in Ukraine as an existential threat. And now "cossacks" of Russian origin but within frame of ZSU are ravaging Belgorod area. Fast, hit and run tactics. This reminds me of French retreating from Moscow, when Napoleon himself stated, "Cossacks are the best light troops among all that exist. If I had them in my army, I would go through all the world with them."

We saw it during autumn offensive at Balaklia and Kupiansk. They defeated elite Russian tank army at Izium and we will very likely see it soon at some yet undisclosed direction (my bet is on Vuhledar to Yalta). Ukraine has the mobile warfare deep in her blood. We will see some more raids before they hit with all their might. If Zelensky said that offensive is "imminent" we may expect some more weeks when Russian soldiers and command will lose all its nerves and slowly start believe it will never come.

Re that Patriot battery.

A retired high-ranking US military intelligence officer who now tracks the Ukraine war notes that the Russians inflicted some damage on the American system, which consists of several dispersed components. “Before Kyiv shut down all blogging on the subject, enough popped out to suggest that the real damage was to the generator van (which would certainly offer a nice heat signature if one of the missiles had an infrared seeker), and to some associated electronic support gear.”

More Gepards for Ukraine..

NutLoose 1st June 2023 16:09

Making one smile :) its not how far they go or how long they stay, it is making Russia have to respond with troops and equipment from elsewhere and also making the public ask Moscow why they are not safe... every little bit helps :)

Just don't expect to flee everywhere by bus

This was one of those propagandists that used to bleat on about Ukrainians being the lowest of the low life and how they will annilate them, today is different, he is worried, if not a touch paranoid, the persona is starting to crumble and the writing is on the wall... he is seeing enemies at every turn and for a retired high ranking officer as in head of the army and member of the Dumbass, his top lip is starting to quiver, far from a figure of reassurance and calm...

Exactly.

The system comprises dispersed components. It's a soft kill and the generator will be replaced, cables repaired and the system back on-line within hours as long as there is a replacement generator waiting. That can be done in the same time it takes to reload the spent missile launchers.

Anti-Putin Russian Volunteer Corps vastly outnumber Russian forces in Shebekino on the Russian side of the border. Russia does not have control of the city. Residents have either fled the city or are hiding in their homes. Russia is trying to bring in tanks & reinforcements.

Helicopters of the Russian Volunteer Corps in the skies of the Belgorod region are striking at the mercenaries of the Moscow junta. Apparently, the Russian Volunteer Corps has seized Mi-24 combat helicopters and Mi-8 transport helicopters, as well as T-72B tanks from Putin's army…

It appears the poor general hasn't realised that the revolution has begun. He seems to think the whole country is full of spies and must be purged. Someone should point out to him that it is he and his corrupt regime that is to be purged.

Handy to suddenly have transportation for MANPADS and ATGWs. Putin may not be having a good week or two here. They have AirPower to do standoff with, and can run arty against their own citizens? that seems to be counter productive. The good news is that Russia has depleted their stocks of armour and their REMF manpower is going to have a steep learning curve against committed revolutionary combat veterans who are motivated enough with getting rid of the current regime that they joined the other side to fight their own govt.

Putin remains the master strategist, he may yet demilitarise Russian forces in Ukraine and in Russia.

Getting the community to change their position with the Kremlin is going to be a tall order, seems that the love of strong men that happen to be murderous against their own citizens runs deep in the psyche of Russia. It probably doesn't run that deep in the states that have been providing the raw meat for the offan factory that the Russian military has been turned into.

It is a dangerous time to be anywhere with an increasingly paranoid sociopath in the high tower.

Ukrainian officials in the capital Kyiv said defences appeared to have shot down more than 30 missiles and drones fired by Russia.

Kyiv military authorities, writing on Telegram, said Russia had launched drones and cruise missiles at the same time.

“According to preliminary information, more than 30 air targets of various types were detected and destroyed in the airspace over and around Kyiv by air defence forces,” they said in a statement.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, who earlier reported two separate waves of attacks, wrote on Telegram that there had been no calls for rescue services.
