I can't see the rationale for this being a false flag. If they wanted to escalate in some way, the Russians have plenty of other pretexts already. Makes perfect sense for it to be done by / on behalf of / for the benefit of Ukraine though; now is exactly the time to keep the Russians guessing, and encourage them to spread their forces more widely.

My (second hand) understanding is that they are genuinely Russian nationals (to give Ukraine (im?)plausible deniability). I doubt that either they (or the Ukrainians) genuinely believe that this operation will initiate a popular uprising in Russia though they would be delighted if it did. The aim, I'm sure, is to divert Russian troops from Eastern and Southern Ukraine in advance of the upcoming offensive.

More on Krill's car crash, ( why does his name remind me of little fish food about to be eaten up by bigger fish.)

NutLoose 23rd May 2023 11:51

A Russian military optics plant appears to have self combusted, I bet they never saw that coming..

It looked like the last one may have fired rockets before pulling up firing flares and turning.

As may that citizen. His situation reminds me of something that happened with my brother-in law (sister's husband).
He was living in El Salvador when a battle broke out in their neighborhood.
He was smart enough to stay away from the windows, which ended up being shattered by some stray rounds before all the shooting stopped.

Well, sort of. I was relying on this, but it may not be operative now:

Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) has extended the suspension of flight operations at 10 airports in southwestern parts of the country and at one airport in Russian-annexed Crimea until at least Dec. 3. Impacted facilities include Anapa Airport (AAQ), Belgorod International Airport (EGO), Bryansk International Airport (BZK), Elista International Airport (ESL), Gelendzhik Airport (GDZ), Krasnodar International Airport (KRR), Kursk Vostochny Airport (URS), Lipetsk Airport (LPK), Rostov-on-Don Airport (RVI), and Voronezh International Airport (VOZ) in Russia, in addition to Simferopol International Airport (SIP) in Russian-annexed Crimea. The measure was previously slated to expire on Nov. 27.

Germany going full in with their support. From his previous stance to appease Russia, not provide anything of real strategic value and appear to almost play both sides of the table. Or that is how I read it

Scholz: "This bitter chapter in the history of our continent, invented by Vladimir Putin in his imperialist madness, will end with a free Ukraine becoming a full member of the European Union. We rule. We decide. We act practically."
