Strange that no traffic is flowing over or under the bridge, I wonder if there was some bridge damage or did the ship go down in the Channel?

Russian aircraft appear to be continuing to conduct a relatively high volume of glide bomb strikes in Ukraine despite Ukrainian officials’ reports that Ukrainian forces have downed several bomber aircraft in recent weeks.

Forbes reported on March 4 that Russian Su-34 aircraft, escorted by Su-35 aircraft, are conducting one hundred or more sorties per day to conduct glide bomb strikes on Ukrainian positions at a range of 25 miles (about 40 kilometers).[14]

The New York Times reported on March 5 that Russian tactics are shifting to intensify operations in the air domain and that Russian forces’ “more aggressive” air support on the front lines has helped Russian forces to advance recently in eastern Ukraine.[15]

These reports suggest that the Russian Air Force is maintaining a high tempo of fixed-wing air missions in Ukraine and is possibly willing to tolerate risks to fixed-wing aircraft, likely because the Russian command may have decided that the positive effects generated by such air operations outweigh the costs associated with flying such missions.

Russian forces used glide bomb strikes to tactical effect in their seizure of Avdiivka in mid-February and are likely attempting to replicate such effects to support ongoing offensive operations elsewhere on the front. ISW cannot independently verify Ukrainian reports of the shootdowns of several Su-34 aircraft in recent weeks.

Forbes also reported that Ukrainian forces are using French-provided AASM Hammer glide bombs after France started supplying Ukraine with 50 of these bombs per month in January 2024.[16]

Forbes noted that Ukrainian forces previously conducted strikes with US-provided Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) glide bombs, but the supply of these bombs has halted due to the recent lack of US aid provisions to Ukraine.

An oil reservoir is reportedly on fire on the territory of the Mikhailovsky mining and processing plant in Kursk region, Russia - Russian media. Reportedly, a drone hit it.

The plant is one of the largest in Russia and the CIS in the extraction and processing of iron ore.

"We are publishing an interesting video.

Having noticed enemy infantry, we sent our drones and eliminated one of the invaders. Immediately after the defeat, the orкs jammed our Mavic, but the drone continued to film.

It turned out that the enemy infantry was covered by an anti-drone group, which jammed the Mavic and unsuccessfully tried to shoot it down.

To counter our FPVs, the russians have begun to deploy anti-drone teams. One with a backpack containing REB [EW] + three shooters shooting down drones.

Previously, such groups traveled in Chinese golf carts (no joke) and protected their positions from drones. We burned their golf carts (we’ll publish a video later), so now they’re running around on foot.

Result. Minus 2 orкs, one of which burned along with the REB (EW) on his back," — the Strike Drones Company of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade "Magura"

Former-Army General and current President of Czechia, Petr Pavel stated today that he is in Support of discussions within NATO and with other European Countries about a “Coalition of the Willing” which would provide Ukraine with anything that it needs to Defeat Russia including the Deployment of NATO Troops into Ukraine in a Non-Combatant Role.

Not NATO but French, Czech etc, if they go in they willl be not be as NATO troops, but independent one would imagine, otherwise it could drag NATO into something they have been trying to avoid..

Why do you not post your post in quote boxes out of interest, so people can see it is a direct quote?

The document is dated 2019 but that doesn't mean it's not current and "acquired" this year.

Ahh i see it now, as said above you do not change the date of an archive on every document lol, heck you would end up in a right mess, as often they are used as a reference..

Posting an image from 2019 shows you have accessed their files, but leaves them guessing as to how close to the current date you have managed to get.

jolihokistix 6th March 2024 09:40

Agreed, and well done to them, but there is usually little that needs any guessing around here. Actually I was surprised that they even publicized this, as the hole will surely be plugged by the other side. Unless they got everything and that's it.

Germany is planning to return compulsory conscription to the army

According to Der Spiegel, the head of the German Defense Ministry, Boris Pistorius, has ordered the preparation of proposals to restore compulsory military service.

According to closed government documents cited by the publication, Pistorius intends to seek the return of conscription before the elections to the Bundestag, which will be held in the fall of 2025.

The relevant proposals, according to Pistorius' order, should be prepared by April 1.

Germany suspended compulsory military conscription in 2011 and switched to professional troops.

I wonder if they will get the same outcry as Croatia did?
Feminists were upset because now they got equal treatment and will get conscripted and LGBT+ got upset because government only said "men and women" in their statement.

As reported, that article goes too far. They are not planning a re-introduction, they are studying it. As Pistorius says ( below ) the social and political case has to be made for it.
