My view is that Prigozhin wants power and Putin needs success on the battlefield. This deal allows Wagner to control the logistics / command hub at Rostov (though not the city as a whole) and hopefully ensure the SMO is conducted better. It also gives Wagner access to more and better supplies. After a suitable period of time (to reduce suspicion) Lukashenko will succumb to his long illness and in the interim period Prigozhin will take over as Steward of Belarus. That is until it is his turn to fall out of a window. Make no mistake, as long as Prigozhin remains alive, he is the person that got concessions out of Putin and made Putin look weak. That is unforgivable from a Russian leadership point of view. |

So new Russian Minister of Defence and head of Army? If true the Shoigu and Geronimo are gone. So the little show makes sense to aid in their removal.
