The very first aircraft to be fitted with autopilot was also the first equipped with sports facilities to address anticipated pilot boredom. An MOD study concluded that, thankfully, the anticipated boredom did not materialise, and so future aircraft were not fitted with any apparatus to entertain pilot's minds and exercise their bodies.
