I wouldn't expect that to come to pass until late next year for armored vehicles and loaded trucks, and then only if next year is a dry year.

No, it doesn't claim they are evacuating Melitopol, they are apparently removing a roadblock there.

Russia is making an awful lot of noise over this. I can't believe they would cause a large radiation release, that could only be done intentionally and I can't see how it would help the Russian cause.
I guess we find out soon where this is going to go.

Ukrainian Sources were reporting earlier today that Equipment and Personnel with the Mobile Radiation Units of the Russian Ministry of Defense and Emergency Situations have been observed moving through the Cities of Enerhodar and Mariupol with some seen near the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.

Good Morning

There is a high probability of a terrorist attack at the Nuclear Power Plant. According to the most likely scenario, four regions will be affected: Zaporizhzhia region, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv. The area that will fall under the “poisonous cloud” of emissions can change due to the change in wind direction. But while it hasn’t happened yet, stop panicking and worrying. Everything will be fine. In the worst-case scenario, it won’t be. Have a good day.

I can see Russia using this alleged Ukrainian strike on Zaporizhzhia NPP as an excuse to launch tactical nuclear strikes on Ukraine "in response".

The optimist in me says that, while it would be utterly irrational for Russia to cause a large release of radiation, it's probably quite rational for them to let Ukraine think that's what they're going to do.

Mind you, expecting Russia to behave in a rational manner is probably asking a bit much...

Not many truly thought the Russians would blow up the dam, then they did.

So is the NPP mined or isn’t it?

A radiation release by the Russians would block the potential crossing over a large part of the front, assuming that the Ukrainians are actually far more humane than the Russians, which they seem to be by all evidence to date. I don't put it past Russia to do something that evil and self destructive. I hope for common sense to prevail, not so common in Russia, more psychopathic in general at least within their govt and media.

Assuming that any specific wind pattern will be the sole driver of contamination is asinine. The Fukushima INES 7 event showed that it will get ugly, and there is a certainly that NATO countries will be contaminated, a direct consequence of a nuclear terrorist state action, and in fact, China seems to be right in the wrong [wong?] place, and will not be too happy, even in Moscow. What is evident is a deliberate release or destruction of ZNPP or any other NPP for that matter is a crime against all humanity, and an act of war against all others.

But prior to the dam being built in 56 one would assume there were buildings etc that may have had to be demolished when they formed the lake, one also wonders if there were old road beds that prior to flooding crossed the area from one side to the other, one imagines as these would have been flat with the landscape they may well have survived and will form stable crossing points. Just a thought, rather like this

A submerged ancient village appeared after a reservoir dried up due to drought in eastern China. The drone video, filmed in the city of Ningbo in Zhejiang Province on February 28, shows the 120,000,000-cubic-metre Jiaokou Reservoir drying up, revealing the stone foundation of an ancient villager's houses which was submerged 50 years ago.
